O/S Daily Saturday 16th March March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Good morning halight and to those who cross/follow,
Very windy here this morning. It has stopped raining now but i dare say we will get some more.
halight, glad your wrist is feeling better than it was. Hope your tablets kick in soon for to help with your head. Good luck to the twins for their tap exam.
Going out for a meal later, so no cooking for me again. I could get used to this. Mind you, it's not great for the bank balance.
Just got three loads of washing to do today so will get the wm on in a little while. Need to have a good hoover round and a dust.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning Halight & all who cross/follow
I went to bed really early last night so now I'm up early, not too bad as hubby has to be at work soon. It's supposed to rain here all day I think and apart from work, we won't be going anywhere as it's the half marathon and the whole town is gridlocked for most of the day.
I shall buy a loaf of bread when I take hubby to work and I think that's all I need, 12 days til we get paid & the freezer is still full.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning x
Im up early too but took pity on the kids and ran them to work as it is pouring. This is the first time I have been able to in a couple of months so feel very positive.
I am also going shopping today too which I also have not been able to do. You look at the world with new eyes when you have been out of it for a while - it will wear off I am sure:rotfl:
Hugs for a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning everyone
Halight - looks like we're on the early shift again!
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Now getting light here but has been raining most of the night and really blustery - this seems to be the theme for today at least, possibly a bit brighter for tomorrow.
DH and DS1 up and off to work stupid early. Hence the reason I'm up and about at this ridiculous hour on a weekend.
Dinner last night was chicken and ham kievs, new potatoes, and beans/veg for the menfolk, I had jacket potato with tuna and mayo and salad. DH agreed that we should have roast dinner tonight instead of tomorrow as we have a busy day tomorrow. I remembered to get the pork out of the freezer, will be at bit of a strange roast as have 4 small pork chops which are not really big enough at 1 each for the menfolk so have defrosted a small pork joint (which on it's own is not big enough to feed us all either), will cook all of it and everyone will get a pork chop and then a slice of meat - any leftover can be put in sandwiches etc for tomorrow or another day. Will do all the other normal roast trimmings too. Yesterday the plumber installed the replacement electric shower - at least now that's done, gas engineer is coming next Weds to fit the gas hob. Managed to get to town after plumber had been and gone - so got that job done too. Did pop into MrA whilst there as on-line shop wasn't coming until much later in the day and they don't have some of the things I wanted - it didn't cost me anymore as it's right near where I park when I go into the town. Had a telephone call from the delivery driver asking if he could deliver early - so was really pleased as he was here over half an hour before my booked delivery slot - so got all the shopping in and put away before the boys got home from school - which then meant I could get on with other jobs. Got all the ironing done, and after sorting through the bedroom floor in DS2's bedroom found some dark clothes that needed washing, but found a few other bits that made up a load so they are just washed and will go in the TD this morning. May be enough for another load later.
Today's plan is to do some baking - as the tins are completely empty - will get all wet washing dried, put away, ironed if needed. DH and myself have to pop out later.
Have just checked my euro ticket and we've won a small prize - that's cheered me up - small things!! Will collect my winnings when I go over to the local village shop to buy our Saturday newspaper - it's the only day we regularly buy a paper and then it's only for the weekly tv listings! Also sorted through my main food cupboard as was sure I'd got a new jar of coffee but couldn't find it - I have in fact 2 new jars of coffee and quite a few (ahem .....many more than I realised!) tins of baked beans and tinned tomatoes - won't be needing to buy any for a while that's for sure! Have several other items I'd forgotten about too as cupboard was so full and a mess couldn't really find anything.
Have a great Saturday everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Who said paradise had to be comfy? It's infested with rats, has no toilet or electricity and the roof keeps blowing off, but for one man his tiny private island is sheer heaven

Morning everyone , lots of people up early , I'm off to work in a minute but only till 10.30 :j
Just had 3 sausages for breakfast lol , left over from the other day and didn't want them to go to waste
Some cleaning and washing to do later , not sure what's for tea yet though
Have a lovely weekend xx
Ps. I thought I'd listen to bbc radio 4 as everyone seemed to listen to it , I didn't like it. I don't think I'm as cultured as the rest of you

Halight - good luck to the girls for their exam.
Halight - just wish I could get my sleeping pattern sorted, some nights I sleep ok, then I have nights where I don't sleep well at all, feel tired go to bed, then can't sleep or sleep for a while then wake up and can't get back to sleep and some nights where I just don't really sleep at all - only bonus with those nights is it generally leaves me feeling so tired the next night I do sleep! My problem is my brain just doesn't switch off - am now trying some different strategies to get into a routine for before bed/getting to sleep.
Just also had an email from MrT re their price promise, if you buy on-line they email you after your delivery or in-store it's done at the checkout. I now have a voucher for £1.21 - not loads but it's better in my pocket than theirs!
Sistercas - I don't like Radio 4 either - I'm obviously not very cultured either! Radio 2 for me every time.
