Some regulars may remember that the refurbished PS3 I bought from GAME failed.

I got a refund on that and bought a new PS3 (only 12GB but we don't need the memory) on offer at £159 from Argos with a free extra controller (worth £47 apparently).

DS2 set it up and the HDMI-1.4 cable I had bought through amazon for only £4 was causing the screen to flicker, so I had to shell out £19 (well £14 with HH voucher) at Tesco. Don't know whether I can get a refund on the cable, or if it is worth the bother.

Anyone know why a cable would work with the slim PS3 but not the new super slim ones?
