Both me and OH have got the weekend off :j

has anyone been to the Isle of Man at this time of year?

we have found a trip there, but seems a hell of a long way to travel on a coach :( and especially if the weather is gonna be pants.

can anyone suggest anywhere else to go, either here or abroad, been looking for 4 days in the sun but seems impossible to get a flight out of any northern/midland airport.

we have budgeted ourselves around £400

so, looking/hoping at somewhere in the UK pleaseeeee.

    any suggegstions greatly appreciated..Many Thanks

How about stayin at home in the comfort of your own home - eat out in your fave restaurants and and turn the heating up full blast. You will save a fortune:D and are guaranteed good food and heat. What more da ya want?:D

I've been to isle of Mann many times. Only been in summer and autumn though. It is a lovely place, very picturesque and you can tour the whole island in a day. It's great but if the weather was really poor there is very little to do other than sit in a pub. If its just cold you could wrap up warm and get out and see all the beautiful beaches. Douglas is the main place and not many shops etc to pass time in. Hth x
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

I can do that every day;)

we want a short break away from home, have had a bit of a tough xmas/new year with family issues.
wasnt looking to get a break away because OH wasnt allowed the time off work but his employer has gone soft on him and allowed him the easter break off now so want to make the most of it.
It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Does anyone know how the half leg of lamb compare on PP please?:D

They are on offer at £4 a kilo which is great value and and cheaper than whole chicken! so I'm gonna stock up on a few!;)

another mse question for you also, are half legs better value than whole legs? ie is there more meat to bone on a half leg for example? I'm guessing because the whole leg has more bone the half is better value!! what do you think? any butchers or MSE'rs done any research in this!!

    Cheers!:)

Somebody definitely chatted on here about this a week or so ago. Hopefully you will get an answer.

  • Good morning everyone, actually started out with brilliant sunshine here, but clouding over a bit now.

Tried a quick read back, but running out of time, things to do etc.

Reading about the painting, my DS and his fiancee and son are finally moving into their own place this weekend, so hopefully he will be removing the things from his room soon, that means I can finally paint it (he "painted" it shortly before he moved out), get it looking decent, it will be my spare/stash room. OH is getting no say in this!

While I am painting the spare room I shall also be repainting the bathroom, does anyone know where I can get paint primer from and which is best (not wood primer, primer to go over previous emulsion to make this layer actually stick). The bathroom has a very pealy ceiling due to using bathroom paint last time that I had to paint over fairly quickly because it leaked brown stuff everytime it got wet!!!! I need to make sure the next coat stays where it is put!

I also have to paint the shed but this weather is rather preventing me from doing that.

Strange thing is, I thoroughly enjoy painting!!!

Awright- if I were you I would look at Warner for adults - these breaks are great value for money and cracking grub. Entertainment thrown in - may not be your thing and I would not have considered it my thing but have a look. They do great last min deals too and have loads of locations.
