They have to be planted as a group so they cross pollinate on the wind:cool:. They really need a good summer to get them to ripen properly and a long season to get more than a couple of decent cobs. There are however some varieties that are bred for the UK and are slightly better than standard varieties. Can't beat a good cob straight from the plant and enjoyed some of the best I've tasted at "corn bakes" in Canada when I worked there as a student.

:rotfl::rotfl: the bees will do it for yousome plants need another plant to be pollinated from to produce the goods. I once spent a painstaking spring pollinating a melon plant with a little paintbrush. Brushing the pollen from one flower onto another flower. We got an apple size melon
