    No problem :D

But actually you might be the same as 99% of Brits who simply do not understand that fitting a set of winter tyres to a bog standard 2 wheel drive car means you stay 'driveable' whatever the snow or ice.

Far more driveable than a fancy 4x4 with AWT tyres. (Those are often badged with a snow symbol but are NOT winter tyres.) Perhaps 20 x better than a 4x4.

In our little village abroad most people have modest cars.

But they ALL fit winter tyres and they all carry on driving through the winter snow.

    And it's very hilly.

With no money spent on grit etc.

Honestly, unless you have experienced driving on winter tyres in the snow, you would simply not understand my point.

I could be wrong here(not unknown:rotfl:) but isn't it a legal requirement in some euro area countries to fit winter tyres?.

Never used them myself but I'm told that the benefits are huge if you live where snow is around for a few months each year. Therein lies the problem in the UK as we don't generally have prolonged periods of firm snow and ice on the roads (except of course in a few locations)

I also understand (again I may be wrong) that winter tyres on roads that don't have snow wear out at a fast rate?
    Awaiting a new sig

Hmmm wonder if its possible to dye them. I got a kipling bag I absolutely love but its dark pink colour. I loved that too at first but now feel embarassed with it. Would love the same bag in a blackish or brownish colour, but cant really justify the expense of getting another one.

:( No they don't dye - tried to dye a white one, the stitching dyed a deep black as it's cotton, but the cloth just went a horrid washed out light grey colour & patchy - not a success :o plus the zips stayed white

My sister lives in Switzerland and it is a legal requirement to have snow tyres. She has a VW golf and leaves the winter tyres on all year round. They dont seem to wear any different. My hubby had winter tyres on his Escort van ( as he goes into the mountains here and abroad) and they are now on my Escort for the winter.

Still finding ways to amuse myself in the 3 hour wait.

Found a big pile of Morrisons cards with the Saturday night numbers to enter on the website.

Then I went to TC and did my Nature Valley receipts - £1.50 in Morrisons, these are actually our favourites. These are the first click snappy things I've done since the Milk Tray and flowers weekend, nothing very much on the lists that we normally buy and I've not been out to collect any trolley refuse, when I do nothing on them matches. But hopefully when these ones go to confirmed I have more to transfer across.

Does anyone know when the end of the next T CC quarter is - seem to think it must be midway through April.

still 10 minites to go, suppose I have to resort to vacuuming now

    Think it's may 4th

Just joined Paddy Power through TCB. £10 deposited, £25.25 tracked TCB, and spent about 30 minutes working though my deposit and bonus on bingo, then my winnings on dynamite digger, and have just successfully withdrawn £60. Brilliant!
