'The folks on the hill' (parliment buildings) are thinking about closing my nearest mental health unit, they have been trying to outsource the work done there for years to the extent that the people who use it at the moment don't have much in the way of continuity of care. Many get a different therapist each time they go so start everything over and over again, so not good.
My GP didn't think I needed any help other than meds because they've helped before but that was with DH's support and without him I have no one close who I trust not to judge my warped viewpoints :o:p. I had to push to get the referral.
It is for this reason I've done a self referral, I'll follow that up with a call to see what happens after they check the forms out. I know there is a local waiting list of 85 for this service.
I don't want social services involved, don't like many of the social workers I've had to deal with in the past due to the kiddies I used to mind, some were more hassle than it was worth.
Old fashioned GP - The new thinking from the new breed of Gp's are short term use of "drugs" and then refer to mental health team for therapy. I suppose it is the usual lottery of what area you are in.
I do understand that the NHS is under staffed and over stretched...but it still annoys me to read stories like yours. You have done the self referral which is a good thing. Maybe also see if there are any mental health charities in your area - these can offer help and advice and support. We even have a small tea room in our town which is staffed by volenteers and welcomes anybody for a cup of tea (which everybody know cures EVERYTHING lol) a chat and is a bit like CAB in that it has all the forms/leaflets and phone numbers of ALL the services local and national that can and do help people who are struggling with depression/mental health/low mood.
I used the 3 terms because some people don't want to be labelled in a certain group....but like I said earlier stuff what anybody else thinks. Illness in the head can be just as bad as any other...in many cases if left untreated things can get way out of hand..
So maybe my last piece of friendly advice to you would be to get a 2nd opinion from another GP in your practice.
Once again take care...all your pals are here rooting for you.

DH took our girls to Tosco after Brownies tonight on the look out for whoopsies. They did quite well on whoopsied salad and veg but I am so proud of my middle DD. She is now our womble queen- she wombled 2x £5 helping hand vouchers and a £1.29 PP from the SS tills. Result!

It helps to be 8 and have no inhibitions but definitely keep an eye out on the SS tills folks, looks like they could be quite lucrative.

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!

I THINK it is 3 for £10 at Sada, 23 showing on MSM and 24 on sada.com so the possibility of 1 not comparing. But I don't think anyone looked into it any further I'm afraid.

I don't think so. When the yogs and butter glitched last week the price charged was the in store price rather than the guide price online :(

I forgot to mention that the 12 butters I sent back, I was refunded the full amount of £1.80 each. Total £21.60 back on £33.xx shop. I sent them back as I didn't understand how it was all glitching (I had yogs too) and it looked a lot at first glance. Which means that I had only paid £5.40 for them. I did go to store to buy more. Now wish I had got loads more, as I mentioned I have to run a cake stall in May.
