Do you mean Tesco has sold me a second hand ring ?
If so they should have checked it on return, as they had every size when I ordered.
You could ask the jeweller what he thinks ,it's only my thoughts but a smear could mean anything because it looks like there has been a h'm at some time ,difficult to tell not seeing it.Perhaps a second opinion may help.0 -

BTW bgo bingo offers £20.20 cashback on TCB when you join & play thru £10.
Can't see an easy way to withdraw money though unlike Caesar's :cool:0 -

Hello, just back from Mr T. Have not had a chance to catch up yet, but T has 400g Heinz tinned spaghetti for 65p each or 5 for 3.00, while A has them for 29p each at the moment. That adds 1.55 to your PP if you buy 5. Got my first PP at the till.
If you get a 10.00 finest meal deal in T, you may like to consider choosing the 6.99 montepulciano d'abruzzo finest red wine as part of it, as this compares nicely with A at 5.00, adding 1.99 to your PP voucher. Also T tinned soups are 59p a can, but if you buy 5 they compare to A soups at 5 for 2.00, so another 95p for the PP:
So in summary, today's recommendations for a T vs A shop are;
5 x Heinz 400g tinned spaghetti 3.00T - 1.45A = 1.55
1 x Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine 6.99T - 5.00A = 1.99
5 x T tinned soups 2.95T - 2.00A = 0.95
Will add a total of 4.50 to your PPI am not young enough to know everything.0 -

afternoon lovelies
I need some advice, please .....
Just over a week ago I finally bought myself an eternity ring that oh has been promising me for over thirty years and while browsing mr T online I found a nice white gold/diamond ring at a really good price.
When it came I didn't like it but DD2 did so her boyfriend offered to buy it for her 18th next month.
I took it to the jewellers today to get it sized as its a tad tight and to my amazement he told me it has no hallmark and is illegal to be sold as gold........
what now as I feel bad getting them something that is completely worthless??.
Doesn't mean it is not gold, just that it cannot be automatically claimed to be gold.I can't send it back as DD2 has already seen it as its for her b'day and its gone to be sized....it is gold but there is just a smear inside where the hallmark should be.
I don't want dd2 to know and, of course, they don't have any more stock.
Typical Mr T.
Could have been re-sized or it could have been re-rhodium plated (done to bring out the whiteness in white gold). Definitely looks like it has either had some work done on it or this wasn't picked up in quality control before it was released for sale. That smear sounds to me as if that ring has already been sized once before, ie made smaller and the hallmark taken out,I always asked for the h/m to be left visible when having rings altered, because I know from experience they sometimes cut the h/m out ,you often find this on antique rings .
If the ring is quite thin, it could be that the hallmark was shadowing through to the other side and then some attempt made to rub this out, though ellie's explanation seems the most likely.
I've had rings re-sized and the hallmark smeared in the process. I wasn't bothered, but if you are thinking of reselling it could bother you.
Can you put up a picture of the smear? Easiest way is to take a picture then enlarge it and crop around the smear.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
