Mis-sold contract from three

Three have put me into a 24 month contract when I was assured this would still be a 30 day contract. ( There is no way i would sign up to a 24 month contract, i won't even take out a 12 month phone contract!)

I initially took out a 5gb data only on a monthly rolling contract as I was planning on getting a broadband. I phoned them up to cancel and said the reason was because I needed more data, so they said they would up it to a 15gb limit on the same monthly rolling contract, so I thought i would stick with that a while longer as 15gb is enough and it was fairly quick. This has been changed to a 15gb 24 month contract and they have no record of the 30 day rolling contract.

I wanted to leave as I was planning on going on "the one plan", but definitely not staying with them now.

I have logged a complaint and they said they would call me back in 72hrs! i am probably not going to get a call back as the customer service seems shocking!

What can I do? I haven't physically signed anything to enter into a 24 month 15gb contract, the only thing I have signed is the initial 30 day 5gb contract. I am not hopeful at all that this will be resolved by three, can I take it elsewhere if not?

You have to go through the Internal complaints procedure first, then go through the ombudsman.

Follow the steps on this link:
    http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/action/how-to-complain-to-the-ombudsman-about-a-mobile-phone-provider/

In the meantime keep copies of all correspondence, make notes of all phone calls including dates and times.

When your contract is modified they send you a letter giving notice of the changes. With a longer minimum term you get better pricing - a quid pro quo for your commitment. If you want to switch to the One Plan, there is no reason not to upgrade your contract and I've yet to see 3UK turning away more money.
