Really early upgrade
Options
Afternoon all,
I just wanted to know if I could upgrade my phone (on Vodafone) earlier than my upgrade date?
I am happy with Vodafone but dropped my mobile today and is FUBAR!!!!so I'm in desperate need of a new device. Also need some more minutes. I don't mind (but would prefer to keep my monthly bills the same our less) paying a little more monthly in order to get it sorted.
If this isnt possible than can anyone come up with other options.
Cheers

How early is "really early"? If you are a little short of the date and wanting to spend more money they may help, if you're a year out it is pretty unlikely.0

Why not just buy a sim only or PAYG phone?
Great android phones start at around £50 and extremely nice ones start at around £75.
If you get an early upgrade, the total monthly payments (over 24 months) will work out massively more than this.
When your current contract expires just go PAYG (free or very cheap). Also avoids the stress, hassle and financial risk of contract phones.
Or if you are a heavy user consider sim only. With cashback, these can work out at around £4 per month.
You can then afford have a lovely holiday or buy something you really want with all the savings you will be making.:beer:0 -
Buy a cheap phone from AVForums - I paid £100 for my iPhone 4.0

My online date is 18th July.
Im sure I have read / heard something somewhere that sometimes the online team can sort thinks like this out. Anyone had any experience?

If you can buy a cheap PAYG or sim free phone to last you the next 4 months, as said above, you will be in a much better position to negotiate your upgrade in July.
If they let you upgrade now you probably won't be offered anything other than the standard deals. As you are tied in for another 4/5 months, they have no real incentive to give you a good deal.0 -
I had (or thought I had) a similar problem and discovered that I had a 24 month warranty with Vodaphone because of my 24 month contract, they have now fixed my phone but would have replaced it if necessary.
I only found this out when I phoned to find out how much it would cost to buy out my existing contract, I have about £100 still to pay until the end of the contract and they quoted me about £80 to pay it off now.0 -
So minus VAT then^SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

I wanted to upgrade 4 months early last year for pretty much the same reason. As I was going for an expensive phone (iPhone 4S) and a £32/month contract, Vodafonr let me buy out the remainder of my contract for £10.
Ask the people on the phones, the shops can't help with this, I don't think.0 -
Shops are sales and upgrades only with Vodafone staff. Retentions are third party company and flex more.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
