I have been through to retentions department with my cable/telephone. There is a 0800 direct dial number for that department. They gave me a discount of £10/month. I have phoned each year so that I keep getting a discount.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

have just been through that, when you try and cancel they try and offer you free services but there is a catch, they forget to cancel the bills go to sky and bt they are much cheaper. other people i know have also had problem cancelling.we eventually got the guy round on sat to pick up gear he said himself he wouldnt have them and he works there.we got today a bill for 4.85 even though the service has been free since jan0

I cancelled my NTL Freedom dialup acount last month. £15 a month for anytime internet and £15 of phonecalls. I had problems though with some pages not displaying, instead giving DNS errors. Wouldn't have been too bothered accept a couple of the pages were my own and it affected ftping and downloading email from those domains.
The CS person asked why I wanted to cancel. I explained and they said ok your account will be closed on........
Not so much as a sorry about that or here's a few months half price. With the latter I probably would have stayed on. On the other hand I did report the problem over 6 months ago and looking online at other customer comments it has been going on for longer than that, so it seems unlikely they will fix it.0 -
i had a couple of years of freebies, with channels and free line rental, each time one freebie came to an end i phoned and said i'm cancelling and got offered something else. always get the name and number of the person making the offer cos they seem to forget, and you never seem to get the same person twice.
not with them now and had loads of trouble getting them to actually disconnect me.0 -
I like others above have had problems with them disconnecting me.
My dispute is still going on and can be found here:
