Charging Abroad?

Will I be able to charge my Nokia N70 (heavy drain on power) in the USA? Obviously I can take my charger and a universal plug will allow it to fit but the different voltage is my concern.

Should be fine, but then again to be on the safe side you can easily pick up chargers whilst over their or buy one off eBay before you leave

I take my N70 to the US often and just use a standard plug adaptor. It just takes a little longer to fully charge because of the lower voltage.
You say heavy drain on power, what kind of standby time do u get on a full charge ? I get about 2-3 days.

Dunno what standby I get as I make full use of it's surfing, phoning and texting (all included in my package of course), never lasts more than 2 days at present and only 1 if I use it a lot. I wont be using it much if at all in the States due to cost but I wouldn't want to be without it in case of emergency etc.

I came onto this board to ask the same question about my Nokia 6230i. Will this also charge up OK in the USA if I use my normal charger + plug adaptor? I don't mind if it takes longer as I can plug it in overnight.

Any idea if it is the same for laptops?

Laptops, no problem at all, but again it takes longer. Never had a 6230i, but I don't see why not as the connections are the same.

If you are driving you could charge your phone via the car charger.

On a girly note, GHD's are terrible to try and charge in the USA although I believe the newer ones have a dual plug for this reason.

    It might depend which charger

    Nokia ACP-7X says 230V input; ACP-12X 100-240V

You could probably buy another for about $5 if necessary

How stupid of me - I hadn't thought to actually look at the wording on the charger!

Mine phone one says Nokia ACP-12X Input 100-240V etc. so it should be OK. I'll check the laptop charger once I track it down!
