Is your Orange contract coming up for renewal?
My contract with Orange is ongoing - 200 x-network minutes and 500 texts for £30 per month. The minutes are sufficient and I don't use all the texts.
Looking through the links on MSE I knew I could get better deals than that but thought I would give Orange the chance to match it.
I rang and asked what they could offer me. It was a £25 per month package and I said it still wasn't cheap enough but the advisor said that was the best he could do.
When I asked how I could disconnect I was asked if I wanted to speak to disconnections (which is actually retentions) and was transferred.
The advisor immediately offered me 400 x-network minutes and 350 texts for £20 per month and as I started to say I didn't actually need that many, he was quoting me another tariff of 225 x-network minutes and 350 texts for £15 per month on an 18 month contract together with the Nokia 6300 handset (my choice) free of charge.
I said that will do nicely thanks to which he responded that he could improve the price further to £10 for 9 months and £15 for the next 9 months.
I wonder if the price can be pushed further?
They seem keen on keeping their customers so it's worth a call.
