Vodafone Credit marking

Hi all,
Quick background - I split from my ex 5 years ago. I agreed to keep her number on my account if she paid it. She missed one and I got a credit mark 4 years ago. I went balistic but Voda wouldn't remove it even though a senior manager agreed to. It cost me a 3% mortgage and I had to go (as I needed it quickly) with the 4% Halifax one. 1% extra for 2 years cost me nearly £2400!
Anyway, she finally managed to get her own account in Jan this year. I got a message on 28th Jan saying I owed £32. No problem. I rang on 7th Feb to pay. I told man I didn't want another black mark and wasn't bothered it was her debt not mine.
He refused to take my payment (Voda guy) and told me they'd chase her. I then get a call on 7th March-ish about the debt. I paid it immediately as there was no way I was letting it drag on. They hadn't been able to reach her.
So today I check my Noodle and Vodafone have put a black mark on my report, right when I'm about to try to transfer mortgage deals - what does that mean? Oh, only that I now can't, AGAIN get the deal I wanted.
I do hope a Voda company rep will be along soon. I have been with Voda for 13 years and NEVER missed a payment myself! If this one isn't removed, within the week, I will NEVER renew mine, the wife's or either of my daughter's contracts who are ALL on Vodafone.
That's a promise. :mad::mad::mad:
Anyone else had similar?

I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

There is no any *her* debt. It's all yours.
If the contract is on your name, Vodafone must deal with you, not chase your wife. Your wife can have access to the account only if you allow this and inform Vodafone about this. This doesn't stop you being the account holder.
I agree with you entirely, Grumbler. This was my point all along. I was well aware it was my responsibility and that is why I told them throughout that if I needed to pay, I would. I told the chap to take my money to clear the matter but he point-blank told me "No". He said it was up to Voda to chase her. I knew this to be incorrect but I that's what I was told.
I then asked him when the last day would be before the filed a mark on my report. I was told the 15th of March. I paid 8 days before this, direct, to Vodafone on the phone.
PS - Ex wife! Thankfully. :rotfl:I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Just to close this issue.
Lee, thank you for your continued correspondence. Sorry I've been unable to reach you on the phone as I've been incredibly busy.
The mark has been removed from my credit file. I'd like to say thank you to Voda for the customer service on this issue. I just wish I'd known about the power of this forum when I received a mark 3 years ago for the very same thing.
We live and learn.
Case closed.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Have you got any more contracts for the family in your name still running? I hope not.
But if you have, then for goodness sake, get the DDs changed to your bank account and get the family to pay you back when the bill comes in. That will avoid this happening again.0 -
Hi AngelsMadv,
Thanks for returning to your thread to confirm that this matter has been resolved for you.
Take care and all the best with your mortgage.
