O/S Daily Friday 15th March March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

A broken nights sleep for me. I went to bed at 10:30, I woke up just after 12:00, Fell back off to sleep, Woke up at 1:30 went back off to sleep, Woke back up at 2:45 and got up came down stairs. Iv had about another 1 and a half hours In my chair.
I was hoping to sleep for most of the night as the last two Thursday nights I have been able to sleep quite well, The lack of sleep I think must have caught up with me, But not last night.
The Girls are at school today, My wife I working this afternoon.
I have the normal Jobs around the house to do.
Yesterday I did a bread pudding. Iv not done one In ages. And I love the stuff, The thing is. Iv eaten quite a lot of it already. It was not a very large one. So today I shall do another one of those. For the weekend.
I also need to think about dinner tonight. It will be a very late one for us and my wife and the girls will be at Girls brigade tonight,
Well I hope that you all have a good day.
Enjoy:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Good morning everyone
Yet another night shift halight? One day you will post at 10:00 and we will all be wondering whether to worry about you or celebrate you sleeping in!
Horrible weather here, really cold and raining and my washing was soaked by the time I got home yesterday. So much for getting up early to hang it on the line.
Nothing OS to report last night. Didn't get home until 8pm so was too tired to do anything except feed 3 naughty little pets then us and make our lunches for today. Should finish early today, fingers crossed.
Venetian style liver for dinner tonight, with new potatoes and peas. Washing is back in the machine for a rinse and spin.
Time to get ready and I really don't want to move. Apathy rules, I still have a severe case of CBA syndrome.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need them or just want them. Keep warm, safe and well and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Good morning all,
Doesn't seem that cold today. We had all sorts of weather yesterday. Very sharp frost in the morning, sun, snow, sleet, rain and winds.
Hubbys birthday today so i will be getting him up shortly so that he can open his cards and presents before we go to school/work. Dd has got to be at school for 7.45 as she has an exam, so the teacher wants to get them together for any final revision.
Wm will be going on in a few minutes. Takeaway for tea so it will be quite a lazy day.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

It's been years since I have stopped In bed that late.:D
I have always been an early bird, It started when I was 17 and I got a Job working 6am-2pm. I use to get up at 5:00am for work everyday. I worked that shift for 10 years.
Even on Saturdays and Sundays I would still get up at about 6am.
Its just what you get use to. My body is use to getting up early. So on top of these Steroids I do't really stand a chance:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Good Morning x
Im trying hard to get back to OS since I had my blood on Tuesday but have now been struck down with a cold. I have not had a proper cold for about 20 odd years when I was training so Im struggling a little. I guess I picked it up in hospital - dangerous places to be:eek:
I do have more energy now though so feel rather thwarted. I intend to make a cake for my mum at the weekend as a belated Mothering present and we need to buy a Microwave as ours sizzled its way out yesterday morning - poor DS2 hates cold milk on his cocopops:rotfl:
I rather think a combination might be a good idea - Does anyone have good, bad experiences?
Hugs for a good day and to all those who feel sad or bad x
Many thanks to all those who supported me on FB yesterday - I have regained my composure xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning All,
I went to sleep at 8.30 last night:eek: Woke at 11.30, went back but was eating a sandwich and drinking a cuppa at 3.30:rotfl: Went back at 4 and actually do feel okay.:T Maybe it doesn't matter what time we are awake/asleep as long as we are getting some of it:rotfl:
Better go and see Dad today. He's moaning about having now wine and beer, despite the fact I took him a load last Saturday:rotfl:
SIL dropping off DGD for an hour today as he wants to go to the gym.
She has had her hair cut, and it looks very pretty. She has gorgeous curls, and they haven't been cut off, just shaped.
Lamb cutlets tonight. OH is coming over, haven't seen him for two weeks, so the phone is off and there will be just the two of us............:T
Just tried to read two Katie Fforde books that I bought in the Hospice shop, only to realise I have read them already! Will give them to our Doctor's instead. They sell them on behalf of a practice in Africa.
Have a good day all.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

It sounds like everyone needs a virtual hug this morning.
I'm off to work in a minute, then to the physio. Im looking forward to the weekend as I am meeting a friend for vintage shopping on Saturday.
OS themes today...food shop this afternoon, I've meal planned and we can get a good few meals from the freezer. I've got a £6 off £60 so I need to spend that much though. I'll bulk it out with non perishables I think.
DS2 has Superheroes Day in aid of Red Nose Day. He is going as Clark Kent! Both my boys are comic book geeks and there was no way DS2 was going as a bog standard superhero. He's wearing a shirt and tie, thick rimmed glasses, carrying a reporters notebook and press pass. Most importantly he has a superman logo t shirt on underneath.0 -
Morning everyone
Hilstep - sounds like you'll enjoy your adult quality time x
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Cloudy, dull, dreich and raining here this morning. It's been raining continuously during the night so everywhere is now really wet underfoot - it had started to dry out a bit.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was sausages - I'd planned sausages, mash, veg and onion gravy - DH asked if he could have chips, beans and egg instead with his sausages - so menu changed to that for the menfolk. I dug out some LO mashed potato and cauli/broc cheese from the freezer, so I had sausages, mash, cauli/broc cheese, cooked a few bendy looking carrots and made a small portion of gravy - everyone happy - no waste and a couple of bits used up out of the freezer. Tonight the menfolk will be having chicken and ham kievs, will cook potatoes to accompany not sure what else they will have - they can decide! I will have either jacket potato with tuna & mayo and salad or omlette and salad - I will decide later.
Yesterday was a bit of a strange day - had loads to do that really needed to be done but couldn't really settle to anything - did go to school to pay for DS2's trip but it was full so he's missed the boat on that one, (we knew it was possibly already full and he wasn't that bothered whether he went or not luckily). Went to do another job but that wasn't ready either but did manage to get some items and black bags taken to the recycling centre so that's tidied up a bit. Did have the WM and TD on pretty much continously - so washing and drying pretty much up to date. Did do the housework and a sketchy menu plan. Was thinking about what commitments we have in the diary this week in relation to the menu plan - what time we have for meals etc, and realised that both cars need servicing and MOT and 1 needs Tax in April - so rang the relevant garages to get that organised. Have an on-line food order being delivered later this afternoon. Will need to go to town once plumber has installed my new shower - I completely trust this company and have had times when I've been unable to be at home so have dropped them my house keys and they do what they need to and they either bring me my keys back to my work or I go and collect them. So potentially I could go out and leave him to it but don't really like doing that - it seems a bit rude on my part! Especially as I'm on days off and don't "need" to go out particularly.
Right need to go and get my hair dried and make up on - don't want to scare the plumber!
Have a good Friday everyone x
Keep safe and well x
