Wife Leaving, we have massive debt... What do I do?

This is the best advice you are going to get - dealing with loans and debts and mortgages and child maintenance is complicated enough, but add on a divorce and an unfaithful partner makes it all the worse. Your first responsibility is to your kids and to yourself. As far as the children are concerned, do not agree to anything re amounts to pay in maintenance with you wife - go through the CSA - that is all she is entitled to - you can give more/save more for your children out of your own money - do not give it to your wife to spend on herself. As far as the debts are concerned it is complicated - theres the mortgage to deal with and this will be the most immotive thing as its where your children live - or do you want custody? You have to think about you, where you will live, will that be somewhere your children will be able to come and stay with you? If you walk away penniless from this, given working hard is not an excuse for an affair as has been said, you will suffer disproportionately for this. Get very good legal advice and do not go into it with any sense of guilt, especially about debt which she would have contributed to running up - it was for your family, not so you could buy a Ferrari! - Good luckpoppasmurf_bewdley wrote: »From what you have told us about your wife, I would expect that she will attempt to screw you for as much as she possibly can. Don't expect her to be nice to you about money - I've been through exactly the same thing and talk from experience.
You need to consult a GOOD divorce lawyer - not a run of the mill solicitor - one who specialises in divorce.0
