I am now out of contract with 3. My work just bought me an iPhone 5, 32gb phone, not locked to a network so I am free to take my pick.
I'm happy with 3, and have looked at their SIM only deals. I have found one I am happy with, but now I have to call them to cancel my old contract.
I am aware that I could just switch my current contract onto the SIM only deal but I don't want to forfeit potential cashback, and I would LOVE a new number that my rather abusive ex doesn't have!!
So, to my question. Other providers I have cancelled contracts with in the past have offered to switch me to a PAYG tariff upon leaving to avoid the 30 days cancellation fee. I could pay £10 which would be added to the PAYG account and then do as I pleased.
Does anyone have any experience of this with 3? Can you tell me if they will do that? I tried to call them as I work through their working hours and do not have time to call them on my 'lunch' break. aka eating in meetings. This also raises the question of how I will ever manage to cancel if I can't phone the cancellations team doesn't it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
