BT Infinity 2 - Mis sold, help with price

Hi
I have just found out my contract has expired with BT and they have put me on the standard tariff without notifying me. (i just viewed my online bill)
I am currently on BT Infinity 2 with unlimited call plan.
The best they can do is £22.75 + £5.15 for calls (excludes rental), is this the best anyone has got?
What annoys me, is that in Jan they installed BT infinity for free and confirmed charges would not increase going forward even when i would start a new contract, well clearly it has as they now put me on a infinity package, as i was on a standard BB option 3 package.
I have asked and got my MAC code and they inform me i have to pay £79 termination fees for the new hub with the infinity box i had, in fairness this probably did say this on the contract, however i know i queried if the price would ever be changed and they definately said no, but this is all a phone call so i have no leg to stand on.
I am so angry, do i cut my losses, or join Sky as i have all channels with them?

If I understand your post correctly you've now been put on unlimited fibre broadband (potentially download speeds up to 76Mbps) from ADSL so you possibly have 4 to 10 times faster broadband.
Seems like a good deal to me.604!0 -
Yes now on infinity, however was paying only £13.60 for unlimited broadband and calls on option 3.(not infinity)
They assured me when installing the infinity, even when contract ends, the costs would not be moved to another package.
So looks like i am stuck really, i just wanted to see if the price of £22.75 + £5.15 (excl rental) is good.0 -
As a new customer Infinity 2 unlimited plus anytime calls would cost me £26 pm for BB + £5.15 for calls although I would get the BB at £20 for the first 3 months plus a £50 Sainsbury's voucher plus £110 Quidco cashback.
I think, when you compare exact like-for-like, you can get slightly cheaper with Plusnet or TalkTalk.604!0 -
You cannot seriously have expected to get 'Infinity for Life' at the price of ADSL? Infinity for the length of the minimum term maybe. No free lunch, and no free laptop

You miss the point!, i agree with you, however they should never have said it will not change, its misleading.
Also, all i am asking now is , is the £22.75 + £5.15 a good price?0 -
