Morrison's would do well to at get all their prices and range on the website in the mean time, even if just as a reference. I will use their online delivery service if they have the range of produce that the 'stores of the future' have, but probably not if it's just a rehash of what the other big supermarkets offer.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Personally, I think its great news, just a shame when they trialled it years ago they binned it:hello:0

Basically with this Ocado tie up, the online shopping will come from a separate warehouse rather than picked in store like the rest of the big four.0

There is no "Ocado tie up". Not yet anyway. Morrisons is merely talking to Ocado. What's more Tesco like to use dark stores for their online operation.
P.S. Dark stores - see this story from The Grocer

Lose 5 quid on each delivery? Wrong.... I know the correct figure for sainsburys. It's a profit and no I'm not allowed to tell you how much.0 -

Erm... yes I know they are in talks. And yes I know what dark stores are. I've worked in retail long enough.0 -

Then why write something like "online shopping will come from a separate warehouse rather than picked in store like the rest of the big four", if you already know that online shopping from Tesco comes from a dedicated dark store with an automated picking and handling system? Or as the man on the Clapham omnibus might call it; a 'separate warehouse'.
As far as I'm aware the only online grocery retailer that doesn't have dark stores is Sainsbury's.0 -

Asda pick home delivery shopping in stores.
Why write that Morrisons and Ocado are not doing a deal. When all you have to do is search it on Google News to find umpteen news articles about it.
And Tesco doesn't just only use dark stores for home delivery. I've seen vans round the back of Tesco stores before.0 -

Second Asda 'dark store' takes on Ocado

So Asda does have dark stores.Deleted_User wrote: »...

Don't know. Who is it on this thread that wrote that? What I wrote was; There is no "Ocado tie up". Not yet anyway. Morrisons is merely talking to Ocado. ..
The "umpteen news articles" merely confirm that statement is correct. Morrisons are in talks with Ocado. They apparently focus on using Ocado's "intellectual property and operating knowledge" rather than, for example, using Ocado's actual operations. The outcome of these talks is currently uncertain.0 -

None of the offline boys only use dark stores. That's the advantage of being a traditional supermarket, you can run an online operation off the back of your existing stores so long as you have a man with a van and a girl with a trolley and a website to generate a pick list. Then, if and when you have the volume to justify the investment, you can switch to a dedicated dark store operation.
That certainly appears to be the way that Tesco, ASDA and Waitrose are playing the game.0
