Does anyone know what maureen 118 charges should be as i have 2 calls made one lasting 58 seconds and charged £2.34 ( with no connection or number found ) and the second one 1.01 seconds and charged £4.14 again no connection or number found, i cannot believe i have been charged so much!:mad:

The charge is what YOUR network dictates, so contact them or look a their pricelist.

The charges will apply irrespective of whether any number is found, as you are charged for the call, not be information!

I'm with Sky talk so are they responsible for the cost then?

Depends what you mean by responsible. If you look up Maureen 118, it will show you how much it would cost on a BT line, so you know Sky (or anyone else) will probably be a bit more.

Just curious though, any reason you didn't just search online for the info?

Every network has its own price list, so one network (BT?) can charge its customers an appropriate rate - others will charge more, or less. Visit Sky and look up their Call Tariff PDF.

From the maureen website:

CALLS TO 118 212 COST 38P PER CALL PLUS £1.59 PER MINUTE (MINIMUM 60 SECOND CHARGE) FROM BT LANDLINES, MOBILE RATES AND NETWORK AVAILABILITY MAY VARY.

So on a BT line, its a minimum £1.97 charge per call, calls from other networks are probably more, with mobile networks charging you an arm and a leg.

Virgin Media offer their phone customers a free service - 118 180 http://my.virginmedia.com/customer-news/articles/Director118180.html. Other networks probably offer similar.
