  • I spoke to Sky today about cancelling in the hope they'd offer me something to stay and I managed to get the most arguementative little sh*t i've ever encountered!!! Every point I made he argued. Not reasoned or suggested alternatives but point blank rudely argued. Then told me in not so many words "you're not going to get freeview, you'll stay with sky, you know you will so what's the point in having this conversation" EXCUSE ME????

Any hoo, no deals offered to me although now I want to cancel just so I don't have to deal with him again! Arrrrrrgh. Hmmm feel better now......:o

i'm trying to join sky now - i want 2 * sky+ boxes and the 6 mix entertainment, they want to charge me £198 and i have spoken to the grumpiest whatnots on the phone and i have hung up on them twice... you would think they would want my money!! i dont want the normal box so wanted a discount...

I guess the sky database will show them the subscribers (like me) who cannot get freeview and use it to their advantage when you ring them up trying to work a deal, or am I just being cynical ?

  • Just do what i did and go through sky retail i think it was called.

A guy who i went through gave me the choice as a brand new customer for either a free sky plus box (just £30 to install) or a sky plus HD box which was £75 with £30 to install and the £30 gets credited back!

He also told me which i looked into and found to be true that by going trhough him i could get the best deals available as they get give better offers as they have to try and intice (sp) people to come to sky and have to have better offers to give!

i still have his number if anyone wants to give him a call.

    Its 07855 750 948

and his name is chris tell him that Peri has given you his number and it does not matter what part of the country you live in he will be able to get you some sort of a deal, since i have took mine out i have since refered (sp) him to my dad, auntie and also my BF who have all taken him up on some sort of offer!
  • The engineer who fitted my Sky+ said that there is something new in the pipeline, possibly Sky+ that you could put onto DVD and that was why Sky were installing Sky+ for free to get rid of all the "old stuff"

A plumber I know is in the process of switching onto Sky as a lad in his local has said something similar, about a newer box and/or offer coming out which is better.
I am on cable and very happy, so won't be changing.

surprised they don't offer sky+ for free now considering the hd box is the same price!!

But suppose if you get sky+ before the 7th May they give you a free £50 Tesco voucher so its almost like a free sky+ box  http://www.skyvoucher.co.uk/skytesco.htm
