Morning all, Bitsy hope you have ahappy birthday.
Sunny and frosty here, my favourite combination for this time of year! Looks beautiful.

Halight I listen to R4 if I have anything on. Used to always have it on in the car, but have discovered the joy of audio books and they have taken it's place there. At home I usually prefer the quiet, but if working at the computer or feeling stressy I will have the Radio on. I agree R4 is a great source of entertainment and information. I love The Archers, although I don't always remember to switch on to listen to it. Prefered it when it really was jsut ordinary things happening......it's got a bit dramatic these days in my opinion. I love programmes like the Moral Maze....they really make you think. I used to work at the World Service so naturally I think it's great!

Today is the dentist visit with my son. Everything crossed that it goes ok. Then afterwards straight into a meeting with care staff about his weekend trip next weekend. Make sure we've covered all the angles.

Yesterday felt a lot better so had a rummage through the fruit bowl, pulled out the oldest stuff that really didn't appeal raw anymore and made a crumble with them.......so I can recomend bruised apple, overripe nectarine and mandarin crumble. didnt add any sugar to the fruit as guessed it wouldn't need it and other than that jsut a normal crumble. It was lovely!

no idea what is for or when I will get lunch today as appt is at 1.30. Can't think about dinner either....another fridge raid!

Ordered my seed potatoes yesterday (3 varieties) and one of those cheap, huge special offers of perenials (from van meuwen). Felt very extravagent! (spelling?????)

Have as good a day as possible all.

    Usual Thursday jobs,

    Strip the beds
    Vacuum downstairs
    Bathroom
Tea will be hunters chicken. We havent had it for ages.

    Have a good day all.

Good Morning everyone and Happy Birthday to Bitsy. I hope you have a great one with lots of spoiling.I have the day off today as youngest DD is working on Saturday, so she is off today, so no school run .She is coming round later this morning for a forage in my freezer ,what she calls shopping at Mummaco. As she only started her new job a few weeks ago, Februarys wage was very small so belt tightening in her house, and a bit of free foraging in my stocks I don't mind as she is a good lass to me and I always have far too much stuff anyway.I am a bit of a squirrel when it comes to tinned stuff especially.:):)

I too am a devotee of Radio Four and never listen to anything else The Now Show on Saturday lunchtimes is very funny, and I adore Any Questions followed by Any Answers, and the play on Saturday afternoons.I actually have two free tickets to see Any Questions at St Georges Centre at Chatham at the end of the month is on the 29th March and my eldest DD and I are going.Good discussions get going, and I love to hear the politicians spluttering :):)

Sunday mornings I listen to The Archers as I have since I was a little girl.I am usually in my kitchen peeling and prepping the veg for the week I always peel the spuds and put into a long tuppaware container in water in the fridge .Change the water every other day and they are ready for cooking when ever you want them One less boring job to do in the week.I also peel the carrots as well and they go into a small bowl in the fridge..I have done this for almost 50 years every Sunday morning when I'm at home.Saves so much time during the week.I also enjoy the drama's , the Womans Hour programme and I just find that you learn so much from Radio Four that you don't need a newspaper. It gives you news from across the globe.I was brought up with the wireless as we never had t.v. until I was in my late teens. My Dad preferred the wireless as he said it meant you could do other things whilst listening to it .

After my OH passed away in 2003 it was at times the only voice I listened to during the day.It came everywhere with me.to the garden in the summer when dead heading flowers my little transisitor was my pal, and in the car my DGC know not to fidddle about with Grannie's radio, its set permanantly on the same station.
If I want music then I have my cds but I usually have the radio on.Late at night if there is a good one on I have 'Book at Bedtime' before I go to sleep It covers most of my needs, and is far more portable and useful than a t.v.

I do watch t.v. but often I can go several days when I don't especially in the summer (when it arrives ) Nothing nicer than a sunny day in the deckchair in the garden with feet up a cup of tea and my trusty radio. My DDs have said I should make a proviso in my will that I can have radio four piped to my coffin, :):):) a bit extreme but I know what they mean:)
Hope everyone has a good day the sun is actually shining at the moment so I have a line of washing to go out for a blow this morning
    Take care everyone

    Morning
Didnt get to post yesterday, got called into work early, then busy evening. Have managed a quick read of posts though.
DS cooked tea last night, buying him that cookery book for christmas was one of my better ideas;) He has event at college tonight so just me here for dinner, probably just something quick. Need to do weekly shop will do before I pick DS up this evening. Asd@ is nearest so am hoping to get some whoopsed bargains.
OS WM on washing will go out when done, DW not full yet so can wait. As dry and bright will cycle to work. Neighbour who is mobile hairdresser is coming to cut hair today, she only charges half what local salon charges and is very good.
Hillstep hope you feeling better today, knocks your confidence as much as anything.
    Bitsy Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Bitsy, hope you have a lovely day

Hilstep - agree with the bubble wrap idea!

Halight - I was told when I was living on my own to have Radio 4 on as it would be like company, and I couldn't agree more :) Don't listen as much to R4 these days and seem to have lost what's going on with the Archers (mum does try and update me) but have to have music etc on when on my own, especially when cleaning and cooking :rotfl:

Well what a week, started with the migraine from hell Saturday, completely knocked me out until gone 5pm so didn't do half the things I wanted to do, and the kids didn't come over so could have done it all! Work busy as usual, but i'm still not feeling 100% - my nephew has been feeling sick and weird and that's how I've been feeling so must be some kind of bug yet again. Looking forward to my half day tomorrow, hopefully I'll get everything done then :p

    Morning all!
Another early morning here, been wide awake since about 3. Garage has just phoned, car delayed till 25th as all diesels have been recalled, a problem with the heater plugs, better getting it sorted than a car not starting in the cold.
Have just woken DS as he has CBT appointment at half 11, chicken and chorizo stew thawing for dinner, WM is just finished a load, and will need to iron today as no tops in drawer again. Will need to put some diesel in the car too as I have been nursing it along this week!
    :bdaycake:Happy birthday Bitsy!
Right, off to clean out cats box ad contemplate the ironing pile, have a good day all!

    Morning all.

Happy Birthday Bitsy - put your feet up and enjoy the day.

I'm also a Radio 4 fan but if I'm in the mood I like to listen to our local station 'Angel Radio,' it's like being in someone's sitting room with a few friends around. They lose their bits of paper that tells them what comes next, they play the wrong music, reminisce about their childhood and holidays etc. tease each other and generally have a good time. They advertise themselves as 'Snap, Crackle but No Pop,' and I don't think they play any music from after the 50s/60s. If you live in the middle of the south coast you should try to tune in. It's hysterical.

Hope you are OK Hilstep. Falls do shake you up so take it easy for a bit.

The Rev is on the mainland today and the sun is shining so I am just going to wrap up and have a walk along the beach. Can do PO, bank and ironmongers on the way back. Soup and a sandwich for lunch and a stir fry tonight. Sorted.
