Please could anyone help me convert, the tins read in square metres.
I work in feet and inches still !
My room is 20ft in length by 13ft wide.
And one other question, is trade paint worth buying over normal ?
It will be vinyl silk emulsion painting white blown vinyl paper.
Thank you

it doesn't matter the size of your room it's the size of the walls that matter unless you are going to paint all the doors & windowsI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
20' = 6.10m
13' = 3.97mI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

They are 7ft, 3 inch in height.
Is that what I need to know? Sorry I know I sound very stupid.MollyJoe0 -
20 ft is 6.1 metres and 13 ft is 4 metres.
Assuming your ceilings are 2.4m high you will have 2 walls at 6.1 x 2.4 and 2 walls at 4 x 2.4.
So:
(2 x 6.1 x 2.4) + (2 x 4 x 2.4) = 48.5
then subtract cumulative area of any doors, windows, etc
NB: calcs are approx/rounded604!0 -

Thank you, am I understanding correctly that I need 48.5 square metres of coverage?
One tin I looked at said covered 17sqm, so I would need approx 3?
Just don't want to start and then have to run out.
Can't you tell I haven't done this before.
Thank youMollyJoe0 -
Depends how many doors/windows. I'll recalculate because I see your ceilings are 2.2 not 2.4 high604!0

OK it's 48.5 excluding windows and doors. So unless you have a huge number of doors/windows then you will need 3 tins for one coat.604!0

that's only for one coat if you are going over brown wallpaper you will need at least two coats & no one coat paint doesn't do what it says on the tinI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Thank you both.
It is new wallpaper which I thought would be white, white but perhaps because it is blown vinyl it seems very dull.
Thanks again.MollyJoe0 -

See attached dulux is 13m2/litre so you would need approx 8 litres for 2 coats.
Other paints would be similar.0
