legoland - which hotel

Anybody now which is the best hotel to stay at for the lego weekend that includes breakfast and cheap evening meal. We will travel up on the friday evening and will want "TEA" and then go to the theme park on the saturday.

There are so many to choice from and also majority of them on the lego site are staying 12 miles away from the actual theme park

Not great with directions when driving so want a stressfree weekend with our 3 little one,s

Many thanks

When we go we always stay in the Travelodge, Slough. Not far at all from Legoland.

We did a LEGOLAND trip and stayed in the Bracknell Travelodge the night before we went to the park. Got it for a bargain price of £23.50 (this was last October). We did walk to a Harvester restaurant (20-30 minute walk) although there was a restaurant /cafe on site. Have to say that the menu on site didn't look too bad; we just wanted to go out and explore a bit (On reflection, we wouldn't have bothered with the Harvester as the wait was horrendous, the place was filthy with food all over the floors and the service was shocking; all very different from other Harvester restaurants we have gone to previously). We did have breakfast at the Travelodge and it was an all you can eat deal. Don't think ingredients were the most expensive you could get but good value for money if you want to fill yourself up. The
drive to LEGOLAND was about 11 miles from the Travelodge and pretty easy to find - virtually straight down one road - but well signposted anyway. Cost of parking at LEGOLAND was £2 in addition to entry charges to the park (but free parking at the Travelodge and plenty of spaces).

Travelodge at Slough is only about 5 miles and is really easy to find from there.

As far as I know, there are no hotels on site or within walking distance. There is plenty of parking at Legoland, but it is chargeable.

Personally, I would look at Windsor as a base. It's a lovely town not far away, with plenty of restaurants and sandwich places to choose from and with the river for a pleasant evening stroll. It is much nicer than Slough or Bracknell. I'm sorry I can't help with specific hotels though.

    Xmas Saver!
Not sure when your going, but I got this e-mail from Travel Lodge last night.

    http://www.travelodge.co.uk/saver_rooms/

Just checked Slough on a Saturday night in April and the saver room came out at £22.

    Windsor saver room was £58

It shows the hotel being 5 miles from Legoland.

I went to Legoland land I think in 2011? And Im sure there was a hotel opening on site although I dont think it was open then.

    http://www.legoland.co.uk/hotel/

I assume its right next to the park as it says

'Our theme park packages include LEGOLAND Park tickets and our location at the heart of the park ensures a truly memorable stay.'

Of course you will want to weigh up the prices of that compared to buying your own tickets(which you can nearly always get 2 for 1 on) and staying in a Travelodge.

I might just do this as 1 night with breakfast for the 5 of us in april is coming in at £288.00. That is also entry fee to the theme park.

    What do you guys think??
