Kwik Fit MOT - 35% off NOW 40% off (merged)

Options
Don't think anyone else has posted this but apologies if I'm wrong.

Just had my MOT done at Kwik Fit. Wouldn't have been my first choice as I'm always of the belief that the corporates are more likely to rip you off. well I got 35% off my MOT so got it for £25!

Being a woman I'm always aware that I could get ripped off. The only think it needed was a brake light bulb which I already knew about - cost me £2 - probably could have got it cheaper but I really didn't mind.

They made me feel really at ease and talked me through what might be neccessary in the future. eg they said I may need an oil change but really didn't need to pay the cost of a 20,000 mile service as it was unnecessary.

Hope this helps anyone.

You need a third off if you go to Kwik Fit! I don't pay more than £25 at my local garages - Kwik Fit 'normal' prices are a rip off.

By arranging an MoT appointment online, you will pay only £25.00 at Kwik-Fit – a saving of 35% on the statutory MoT test fee. Your test can be booked here.
My son was told this when calling to book an MOT, so he put the phone down and booked online and saved money

Well where I live the cheapest of the independant garages was around £40 - and I rang them all.

I wouldn't have usually touched KwiK Fit but my husband had to take his company car into them so came accross the offer on their site. I have to say the service was brilliant so I will almost certaintly be considering them for future work.

It is worth shopping around the smaller players as well, locally I found two small garages one at £25 and one at £19 for an MOT, both offered free re' tests!

There is a lengthy thread on here about using local council maintenance centres for MOT tests, as they don't carry out MOT fail work. The theory being that if they aren't going to benefit from the "fail" work, they are less likely to fail your vehicle. No doubt garage owners would be appalled to hear of such scepticism, but you do have to wonder at some of the cheap MOT deals which exist.

To be honest the quality of the service you'll get from Kwik fit depends entirely on the staff they have employed at the particular depot you go to - i.e. it varies wildly. Their marketing tries to sell the whole chain as the same level of service when it's just plainly not.

Not very helpful, but the truth nontheless (sorry!)
