claimed refund - can i still claim compensation?

Hi All
I was booked on a long distance flight which was delayed 24hrs, I had already missed my meeting so got a refund. Can i still make a claim for compensation ?
Airline: South African Airways - london -> johannesburg.

Do you have a copy of what you signed when you got the refund.
It possibly says ;in full and final settlement'make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I didn't sign anything,, my company booked the tickets via expedia and then got the refund back. I really dont know what if anything would have been stated in the settlement. I'll try and find out from the agent... many thanks0
