Hi folks.
Just like a lot of you I have recently been having issues with Facebook.
My first issues were the usual that a lot people run into which was doing things too quickly in a repetitive pattern. I was told to Slow Down on many occasions for hitting Likes & entering L&S Competitions too quickly.
A hinderance, but I complied & was patient. These Slow Down messages would appear every now & again & I would just begrudgingly comply.
I had slowed down on L&S Comps considerably as I was getting fed up of being told to slow down, so, I was a little peeved when I got a 15 day ban from writing on anybody's wall. Ironically, I had just received my first ever Facebook win around 10 minutes prior to that ban. I probably have about 3-4 days left of that ban still to go.
A couple of days ago I had the same problems as a lot of you were having & some are still having now. I had to undergo guessing which one of my friends was an inanimate object such as a handbag or a pair of shoes. I failed about 6 attempts over a 7-8 hour period and then finally I guessed right & it appeared that I had got my account back.
After about an hour I logged out of my comping account & then logged in (successfully) to my personal account. No problems there whatsoever. I then tried to log back into to my comping account & got the same BS message about Fake, Real Person, blah, blah, blah & got told I was going to receive a confirmation text by code to validate my pathetic existence. Text received, code inputted, account back to normal.
I have left myself logged in all last night whilst asleep & was still logged in this morning. I logged out this morning from my comping account & then switched to my personal account & then back to comping account with no problems whatsoever.
It seems that normal service has been resumed (for me, for now, at least)
Some things I have observed since I have got back into my account.
Now, I only have just over 100 friends but I have noticed that the people in my friend's list who had no photo as their profile picture have not been able to log back in or claim their account. Their name is no longer in blue that is clickable. It is now in black & cannot be clicked on.
What I have also witnessed is a lot of people moaning about how hard it was to identify their friends through pictures of objects rather than people only to see the same people not remove the same damn pictures that confuse others from their albums.
I have no pictures from any of the competitions in my photo albums. Why have them in there? - Delete the album that says Timeline & then people can associate you with half a dozen photos rather than 500+ picture. If you don't wish to delete it then set it to be viewed to 'Only Me' - It is not rocket science.
The whole idea of being part of a community is that you 'roll with the punches' collectively. Sure, something comes along & pees us all of but we as a community should adapt to it. Letting people on your 'Friends' list struggle time after time to guess pictures that you may still have showing in your photo albums makes you COMPLICIT in their struggle.
Even though these photos were originally on your timeline, they show in that timeline photo album until you do something about it. The pictures that Facebook are asking you to confirm is from that timeline album & not from your actual timeline itself. Try hunting for a competition that you entered on your FB account from 4-5 weeks back. It is hard work since FB condenses everything you do on your timeline now.
I have a picture of my dog as my profile picture & a scenery picture as my cover on my homepage. Both of those pictures are in my photo album as well. I also have another picture of my dog in that album. This should make things easy for somebody else to decipher if they wish to.
Only having around 100 friends or so makes things easier to manage as well, but you only need 25% of those people to have kept competition photos in their timeline album to mess things up. Why people have well over 1,000 friends is beyond me!?!?
My next step is to delete people from my friends list that are showing these types of pictures still. They have not adapted and if I ever get that same BS picture guessing security check then somebody with 500-700+ pictures of inanimate crap will not be complicit in the demise of my account.
If Facebook pulls its finger out & gets rid of all these L&S competitons for good then I will only need a few good friends on my list anyway, as it will all be App only competitons.
I just logged back in & out of my comping FB account quickly & everything seems to be ok now.
The only things I changed was I updated, Where I Live & What School I Went To to appear 'more human. I have always used my full birth name for my comping account & there are only a small handful of people with my whole name via a Google search. This also proves helpful when googling your own name to see if you have had a missed win or something.
Please folks - sort those pictures out & adapt & give your fallen friends a chance to get back in.
Hope everybody gets back to normal soon.

Just one piece of advice - keep to only one Facebook account as per the rules
Thanks to all posters :A0 -
Thanks for that, Sherlock. Having 2 accounts if I can navigate between them both & then reclaiming one back is obviously not the issue for me. People who only have one account and do not use it for comping have suffered the same fate. Some people have lost their accounts completely.0

Ok. I have helped 7 people this morning get their accounts back. 3 were compers, 2 were non-compers (normal accounts) & 2 were gamers (1 was my other half) who play games like Farmville, Happy Pets etc. This is very widespread at the moment & it is not just one group being targeted. I have managed to get an email address of somebody apparently 'in-the-know' within Facebook & I have just sent them an email. I will await to see if it gets a response.
A lot of people who seemed to have suffered are people who had no profile picture & who also had no photos whatsoever in their albums. This is why I failed my first security test with Facebook because I was asked to guess who a blank space was. Not a silhouette like in a profile pic when there is no photo present but a blank space!
Out of the dozen or so people who had no profile pic showing that were in my friends list - only one still has their account. The rest have more than likely been lost forever.0 -
I got in trouble for creating two accounts

I have been blocked for 30 days, I verified twice by phone and 3 or 4 times by catchpa. Then I got blocked. What do I do now to get option to comment back etc?
I had a profile pic which was a bit fuzzy but it was me.Wins:

Can you PM your Facebook account name please & I will see if there is anything I may be able to help with.0 -
Another thing is that this security check has a timer attached to it that you or I can't see. If you don't guess the pictures within an certain timeframe then you will also get a failed attempt & will get told that there is no further verification available at that time.0

The problem is how can we delete the pictures in our own accounts when we can't get passed the security to get into our accounts

I have heard loads say that your fifth verification gets you the 30 day ban too - I got mine on my fifth! I have my real name, never used MSE in my name, not a member of the winners circle.....F***ing FACEBOOK!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Not convinced about just those banned for having no picture.
I have my photo up as have others I recognise who are posting on the other thread. We have been blocked.
I keep my friends list down to 160 and the majority of those have at least 130 friends in common.
All as far as I am aware have only one facebook account and have provided correct details such as location, date of birth etc.
The blocking appears quite arbritary in most cases.
However I am suprised on the number of people on the other thread who are admitting to having 2 or even 3 accounts.
My feeling is that facebook ran a program at a specific date and time and many of us online then were trawled up doing like and share comps.
I have been doing very few comps for the last month, but was online Sunday evening and did perhaps 4 like and shares in succession.Odd that the blocking came Monday morning.
Lots of friends who enter hundreds of comps weekly have not been affected so I discount the like and share as a general reason.Likewise others who do not do like and shares have been affected.
Think it was just unfortunate being on line at a specific time.
Though I should like to thank those with multiple accounts for sparking this blocking spree.0
