Neither tank is big enough for even one goldfish! They are pond fish really but can start off in tanks or stay in large ones.A goldfish should have 120 litres to itself. They can grow to 12 inches plus.Fancy goldfish less but they still need decent sized tanks.
Marine set ups are the most complicated and expensive.Again, neither tank has much space and you certainly could not recreate Finding Nemo in either of them!Small tanks are also more difficult to maintain the water quality (apparently).
You could have a little tropical set up though.I highly recommend pygmy corys (schooling fish so need minimum of 6) as they're very small, incredibly cute and interesting to watch.
As Frogley says, join us over on the PFK forum and you'll be advised on what you can stock either tank with
Very good advice, shegirl.I have had goldfish and other pond fish for over 25 years .Tropicals for over 20.Yet i would still not wish to keep marine. They are very specialised ,quite expensive to maintain and to be honest i don't like the thought of something that should be free in the sea living in small tanks.Coldwater fish in ponds are fine.Mine holds 1800 gallons.Tropicals i decided years ago not to get any more after i rescued the last two i have in my tank from bad conditions, and they are still going strong after 20 years.I hated going into pet store and other aquatic centres with dead and dying fish in crowded tanks.
What is your name over on PFK,she girl?0 -

1. bi orbs are awful. One thing to bear in mind is not to fill them too full as you then limit the surface area of the water which in turn limits the oxygen exchange.
2. As someone who has kept marines for years i woulod strongly suggest you don't even attempt it until you have some general fish keeping experience. They are not easy or cheap to do properly.
Have a read of www.ultimatereef.com if you want to get an idea.
With marine, the smaller you go, the more unstable the water paramenters will be, and the harder it is to keep everything alive. Margins are very fine0 -

I haven't got any pics up yet but this is what the little dudes look like, they only grow to a max of 1 1/2 incheshttp://allaboutfrogs.org/gallery/mystuff/images/dwarf.jpg
(African dwarf frogs)
They are insanely cute little fellas and soo funny! We have four at the mo-Kermit,Frogger,Ribbit and Croak:rotfl: two boys and two girls
The males also (audibly) sing under water when looking to mate
I highly recommend them!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
I need to avoid other sites.
Now I've spent the best part of the last four hours going from fishkeeping to reptile keeping and I have a list a yard long, including;
Tree frogs
Dwarf frogs
Chameleon
Newts
Axolotl
Corn snake
Gecko
Skink
Blue spotted salamander
Plus, the teeny wildlife pool out the back (ie, the big black plastic plant pot without holes that currently houses some very cold water, watermint and a couple of bricks for the birds to stand on) has been turned into an idyllic oasis, stocked with spawn from the nearest pond that isn't completely isolated by high walls like mine is - in my imagination.
I must stay away from the birds boards.
I haven't even mentioned the huge shoals of little fish I imagine having in my river biotrope.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Oh I'd love a Tree frog!
Had 3 leopard geckos and a giant day gecko
Chameleons are just awesome and the way they walk is so funny! If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

So....just how much of a good idea could any of this be with a somewhat physically and definitely intellectually impeded cat rampaging about the house?
This is a cat who, despite having a set of steps to get to the windowsill in the living room, also has a beanbag on the floor at the other end to act as his crash mat when he inevitably falls off at least once every day and night (he did it last night when he woke up to realise a fox was sitting under the window outside looking up at him). Who falls off the kitchen table and has completely stacked three times today trying to get onto the top of the freezer. And has fallen into his water bowl on numerous occasions.
But still keeps on hurling himself around the place, and occasionally actually looks like a proper cat when he's ack-acking at the birds outside. And is currently taking up more room on the sofa than I am.
Yeah. Him, vivaria, warm tanks and little things what bounce, swim, wriggle or scuttle. Whatever could possibly go wrong here?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
