Having run a B&B on a short term basis I'd recommend the following:

Get on Laterooms - same commission as Booking.com
Eviivo - costs £50 per license (one off fee) and they advertise on LOADS of websites (tip: don't opt in to Laterooms here...the setup is full of faults and we had to opt out after a few weeks of using it due to several issues).
Freetobook - use this on your own website as there's 0% commission.

Getting reviews on Tripadvisor is important - I don't book anywhere with checking these.

Dogs - I'd definitely reserve some no-dog rooms as this could be a sure fire way of getting bad reviews from non-dog owning visitors.

    Good luck to your daughter!

I would not stay as you allow dogs .I think many people will feel the same.
I know you say she has 2 dog free rooms, but the dogs will be in the other areas and what about when the owners are having brekkie? I thinks its allienating more people than its worth, against appealing to dog owners. Lets face it, rainy day- wet dogs smell.

Try ads on ebay and gumtree.

Unfortunately according to the OP's other thread, the business has now ceased trading.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

A thousand niches and it just happens to be your niche . Dogs, Golf, Fishing, Walking, Bird watching, Dogging, Cooking it really doesnt matter what people want to go away for its a chance for them to be better off staying at your daughters B&B than the one down the road. Selling just info on eBay will get views and cost very little . A web site linked to your facebook, twitter and ebay account helps . Word of mouth is always the best. Discounts & late deals off season brings people in to spreads the word. Forums like this have helped me. (Ive had at least a dozen bookings through here & theyve become Facebook friends and their friends are now booking ) See how ive turned this around onto me and mine. Its always looking for advertising and promotion of what you have . Oh im leaving it on anyway .. Just read Lincrofts post hahaha Wales anyone
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
