halifax clarity

Anyone have any experience of this? i have just applied and said it was being processed and i would receive a decision in 4 working days.

it gave me an estimated credit limit of £600, asked for direct debit details and asked me to register for internet banking with a password.
is this likely to be an accept?
thanks for any advice

    50 / 50. Could go either way.
  • wonder why they would give a credit limit then and ask for registration details.
did say approved decision at the top of the page then say they would email within 4 days

When I applied, I got an "estimated credit limit", but then a couple of days later received a form to sign (Halifax are quite backwards like that), then several weeks after sending that back, the card and PIN arrived.

I'd say you should be ok (although a £600 limit seems low?) but don't expect the card to turn up quickly!

thanks for your rep,u. im not fussed about the credit limit, its really for abroad use but ive had such a bad credit rating for so long im pretty plesased if this is accepted
  • Assuming that you're accepted, good idea to check which APR they're offering as this varies customer to customer.

Halifax have a 50% 'advance limit', meaning you'd be limited to only £300 for cash. Does that still meet your needs?

does and it doesn't. I didnt know that to be honest but im assuming you would still pay a cash advance fee anyway so it would be more for paying for hotels

This card doesn't have cash advance fee.
Just for purchases abroad Aqua Reward would be better.

well thats not bad then, im not really bothered about the particulars, ]
to me, to be accepted for what i assume is classed as a mainstream card is a big achievement
