have taken out new contract with carphone warehouse. this entailed a switch from vodafone to the talkmobile network. my question is how long does this switch usually take. We were advised 72 hours as we retained existing number, however after purchasing saturday it is now tuesday 19.45 and still cannot make calls from new phone. Should add that switched old phone off/on as instructed but it will still accept calls so it would seem things are being held up at the Vodafone end I assume?

Normally the new network can tell you the exact date of switching.

I assume you did have the PAC from Vodafone at the time of purchasing the new contract and did give it to CPW.

yes vodafone gave details whilst we were in the shop. BTW wife tells me that vodafone spent a while on phone asking why as a long standing customer she was leaving etc etc. She explained that we had just come from the vodafone shop over the road who showed a complete lack of interest so it was a bit late now.

Not sure if it depends on network, but I got a new three phone on Friday and supplied my pac from orange on friday night.

My number transferred yesterday around 12:00 and I got an email the day before to confirm.

When you say you cant make calls from you new phone, do you just mean from your old number, or theres no sugnsl at all?

morning. the old phone is still functioning normally. the new phone shows the message"no network connection," been on to talkmobile people this am and went through a lot of taking sim card, battery out of new phone and putting it back without success. ended with them asking for sim card number and them saying they will forward to PCN? team and all should be ok . I suspect someone has boobed along the line and the new sim card number did not get to whoever needs it,but as i say am clueless in these matters as first time ever changed phone. thanks for all helpful replies folks.
