Renewal of tmobile 750, £2.99p/month. Can this be right?
My 11th month on a tmobile line i got from fwdcellular came up yesterday and i called up to cancel, they offered me 12 months line rental for 2.99 a month, so total cost for the year under 36 quid. Seemed pretty good deal so i asked them to send details in the post. I called today to confirm and it was exactly that..
But if i remember correctly from past experience tmobile have never been so relaxed on line rental and last time the best they could offer me was 9.99 so has something changed or have they some secret clause that will make me pay?
Btw i asked for no new phone.

It sounds good. Perhaps the mobile companies have realised at last that this is a better deal for them than paying out £200 commission on a contract worth less than that.0

Take it up, sounds good.
And if they change it (up the price) or wont let you have it, then you have a hard cop of the offer so they will have to give you it.
good luck0 -

You sure it's not a cashback deal?0 -
check its not a 18 month contract - even if it is its still a good rate.
did they offer a phone as well?0 -
I'm in exactly the same position ForwardCellular contract T mobile 750 coming to an end.Tried this and they want £3.99 - £10 a month off - I'm hanging on for the £2.99 if poss.0

Don't forget about the charge for itemised billing details; perhaps you both mean the same offer but one has billing, one not.0

yeh i disabled the itemised billing and i confirmed its a 12 month contract, no cashback and no phone. just line 750 off peak tmob and landlines per month sounds good.. but i didnt have to work for it... too easyummm...0

Darren if it comes straight from T-mobile it doesn't need to be a cashback deal.Darren21 wrote:You sure it's not a cashback deal?
I've had 2 of these in the last 2 years until Feb. The line rental on the first was £13.99 a month. I paid a year upfront, getting a 5% discount from T-mob, sent the bill to Scancom for cashback ~£159.
Someone in T-mobile told me the commission for this at the time was £200, so they lost about £40 on the deal, as I didn't use it in the daytime. It cost me £20 initially, and Scancom presumably earned about £60 less expenses.
So T-mobile offering this deal direct looks like a sudden attack of common sense; let's hope deals like this get more common, as it cuts admin and worry for the customer about cashback security.
edit - I don't intend the remarks about cashback security to apply in any way to Scancom; they have been perfect in 3 deals, and they had the VAT problems figured ages before most people.0 -

That's probably the catch - not getting a new handset. Try and blag a free one if you can (even if it's a 3310!!!). But for that price I wouldn't say no to that contract... but the others have been spot on. As long as it's not 18 months and they can send you it in writing then do it before they change their mind

The phone on my second of those contracts was a N 3510i for £20 extra.0
