So really do you just sign on every two weeks but just have an independent advisor to help you find work? Is that what is meant by PROVIDER?
    Thanks guys
My provider (the company that run the work programme) do not look for work for me or help me in anyway. Yours may be different

in a nutshell yes, you have to attend to satisfy the availability and actively seeking elements of your claim.
The work programe take over from JCP, you have access to any JCP funds or support but have to satisfy any requests and attend all interviews with the provider that are arranged.
  • oh right im starting to understand it now. These providers do you see them at your local job centre?
My old personal advisor told me last year a new scheme may be introduced were you saw an independment person instead of attending the job centre all the time
I don't know how it works here in Bridlington to be honest. I'm at the job centre Monday

Where I work certainly no, not at the JCP premises. Where I am the appointments can be anywhere within 90 public transport travel times from your home. They refund the cheapest travel to the interviews.
How long have you been signing?

And yes you are with the WP provide for two years from referral date so theoretically the work you find can be less than two years.
  • Yes my advisor was talking to me about it last year around summer time. Unless the work programme is not available here for some reason.
Do you get travel costs etc for your 14mile trip if you dont mind me asking please?

Hmm you said the job you get has to last two years but not the case if you have been on the WP 18mths and get a job that lasts a year or even 7 mths.

It really makes no sense to travel so far to the WP as one of their motos is 'they understand the local job market' where you are not even local
