Broadband and working from home

    You're right you don't NEED it however it is against the terms of service of many ISP's to use the residential service for conducting business on. They could, if they chose to, terminate the service.

    It's probably never happend, but just so you're aware, it could do.

    Working from home as an employee for a company based elsewhere IS NOT classed as running a business from home.

    I had the same argument with Sky, who promptly supplied me with a router that allowed VPN access. Now, if it was against their terms they wouldn't have supplied me with a router than enabled me to work from home.

    WFH and running a business are two completely separate things. And to WFH you do not require business grade broadband.

    You can take business broadband if you really want that piece of mind, but you don't have to.

    It's not you're right, but it is using the line for business use. I never mentioned anything about running a business.

    ISP's would just block VPN access if they didn't allow it.
