Parking Fine From UPC(UK Parking Control)

Options
Hi Guys,

I went to my local retail park yesterday and come back to find I had a black and yellow parking fine on my windscreen. I always tend to park over 2 spaces so I don't have anyone park next to me and dint my car etc. They are trying to make me pay £60 within 14 days or it goes up 2 £100. I have read on here and other sites they are not legit... Does anyone on here know of them or had dealings with? Do I ignore?

Thanks

My impression is that parking bays are in general too narrow for the increased widths of modern cars.

Side impact protection has also increased the widths of the doors and doors now need to be opened wider to provide sufficient space to exit (and that's without an obese driver/passenger).

How wide was the parking bay?

At least supreme two has a brain and sees it from my point of view unlike all the other keyboard warriors on here ....

Park over 2 spaces out the way to avoid inconveniencing other shoppers or park as close as possible to the stores and risk getting car damaged and having to pay for repairs because of careless drivers and there children who swing open there doors and dent, mark, scratch and then just go on with out a care in the world... Don't think so ... I will continue to park over two spaces were ever possible without causing a problem for someone else for as long as I live.... Everyone on here who says I am a selfish Parker u are most probably contradicting yourself as You have most probably parked inconsiderately before so instead of judging me answer the simple question instead of moaning about it !!! If u owned a sub sub 20k car and cared about it what would u do

Best keep it in your garage, then. Avoid stone chips, bird droppings, accidents, mud etc, and parking tickets.

Also, is a sub sub £20k car one that cost £1500? (sub meaning under). Can't see what you mean by that, unles you meant the opposite.

Look, most of us have cars that we like to keep in good condition, and, yes, some car parks have too narrow bays. But there are always some bays that have a bit more space, or at the end of rows. Parking over two bays is not the answer as if it is ok for you, it's ok for everyone and then the parking spaces halve.

Why would i want to keep it in the garage to avoid stone chip, bird droppings, mud and accidents

    Bird droppings > washable
    Mud > washable
    Stone chips > unavoidable
    Accidents > unpredictable
Car park dinks and dents > avoidable > park over two spaces out the way over two spaces .... I wait cos I did it everyone can now do it so that's a win cos then none of the inconsiderate prats can damage the pride and joys of people who actually care .....

    I.e u r a keyboard warrior get a life

Cars get dented and scratched. It's not the end of the world - learn to live with it. Or get a bicycle.
    Can I help?

I've heard of others parking over two spaces, especially those with cars they take pride in, especially in older carparks with layouts from the 70s/80s where the spaces were drawn up for a Ford Cortina, not a Ford Galaxy.

My own car was dented in an outlet centre carpark thanks to a car pulling up next to me and swinging its door wide open. I didn't see it but the dent was on the side of the car where said other car had a baby seat fitted.

The ticket is still just as unenforceable.

    Good grief !

OK here's the advice you seek so badly :

Either pay it or ignore it - your choice.

RDWARR- u obviously don't care about your motor or u don't have one and have no interest in cars

I love cars. I have four. One is an expensive convertible. To even things up a bit another one is a Maestro. But it never occurred to me that having a flash car in mint condition would entitle me to two spaces.
