Romantic area of Isle of Wight?

With a view to a night away this summer, I'd like to know if anyone knows a quiet, scenic part of the Isle of Wight - rather than a bucket-and-spade, family type resort.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Bonchurch, near Ventnor, is really quiet but romantic too. My sister rented the boat house there for the weekend. Could be just what you're looking for. I like Seaview too...0

Suggest Shanklin, very pretty, Olde Worlde, thatched cottages etc. Sandy beach too but not as 'busy' as the likes of Sandown Ryde etc.0

Godshill is pretty isolated/remote, but it's the IOW. Nowhere is very far - and all roads lead to Newport.0

Shanklin is still very family orientated/ bucket and spade though.0

Thank you very much. I'll bear these in mind and maybe book something soon - sorry for delay in coming back; I forgot I'd started the thread! :wall:Life is mainly froth and bubble

Wow, just looked at the website - it's absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't do it just for a night, unfortunately, and a weekend is really more than I'd budgeted for, but definitely something to think about (fast, as it's booked up for ages to come). Thank you!Life is mainly froth and bubble

What about The Enchanted Manor? Heard really good things about it from locals and tourists0

We stayed in a lovely B&B called ocean view house in Ventnor. Beautiful views out to see from our balcony.
We found everywhere we drove to be beautiful. We had a really lovely drive from ventnor to Yarmouth to go to a restaurant. Amazing views on the drive and Yarmouth is lovely and has a really long peir. As we were early for our table we walked down the pier and sat at the end just enjoying the view.
I am sure you won't struggle to find anywhere romantic on the IOW its an amazing place!JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
As a born and bred local I would advise against Shanklin and Godshill for your purposes. Suggest you "Go West" as West Wight is much less commercialised and the scenery and beaches are amazing!0

Mintymoneysaver, I don't know if you'll see this message, but I just wanted to let you know that I did book the Boathouse at Bonchurch and we are really looking forward to our stay there.
Thank you (and everyone who answered) so much for your suggestion.Life is mainly froth and bubble
