"A great idea but can you see Asda paying a member of staff to stand outside to monitor 10 or perhaps 20 parking bays? Whilst it would be the best, economically I don't think it will ever happen"

Yet Asda pay someone to stand arround the tills with a large hand on a pole pointing to an empty till!

And lets face if they already have staff in the car park collecting trolleys etc, can't these existing employees multi task ? It's about having a positive shopping experience with a retailer, not a negative one that leaves you think that they are ripping you off.

So glad that the poster above went back with the TV , this shows that there is a problem at this asda as the manager said not another one, this IMO should be complained to at head office level, especially if the scammers write to him
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

A Vehicle Excise Licence with the words Disabled and zero tax paid seems like a good badge to me.

They don't care. The only ticket I have ever had was at Asda. My wife's blue badge had expired and we were waiting on the new turning up, displayed old one anyway and also tax disc said disabled and still got a ticket.

The last few times I have parked at Asda (with wife), I have deliberately not displayed blue badge, but the don't seem to be playing at the moment. Although very rarely do I actually see any TCP/SMART Scammers in the car park.

A lot of bleating going on - but no realisation that ther HAS to be some form of verification. Self-justification of a need to park closer than normal is arrogant in the extreme, especially if there are BB holders trying to access the limited spaces available.

There is no 'right' to the space, if a passenger needs to get closer, they can be dropped off and the driver park normally. The reverse process on conclusion. Whilst clamping is outlawed the only other sanction is a private parking invoice, and the possibility of court (however remote).

I am appalled at the number of able-bodied users I see using these paces with abandon in my local ASDA. The fact the are doing something, is at least better than doing nothing at all.

Bleating? I hope we were being a bit more constructive than that in trying to get people to obey the law of the land (which is England before you do that one again). Disabled parking spaces should be for disabled people. That's what the law says and it really is as simple as that.

I am appalled at the number of able-bodied people I see getting out of cars with blue badges in them (presumably the holder is somebody else) and occupying spaces that should be for genuine disabled people who need space to get out of their cars and have mobility problems.
    Can I help?

You should see the fun and games i have at Asda House (Head Office)
I park my van across the disabled bays, always have done.
Sure enough, each lunch time a 'todo' is created at reception by the woman i block in.
Have to say she's quite agile and sprightly when she wants to be. Amd she ain't the only one either!

And before anyone feels the need to vent their spleen regarding my parking. That's where Security put me.

    Nonononono. :eek::eek:

There IS a legal right to use a 'reasonable adjustment' = e.g. a disabled parking bay in a private car park.

There does NOT have to be any 'verification' and there is none in any other situation covered by the Equality Act 2010. Do you want them to ring a bell like lepers?

You example in bold is laughable as you've ignored the possibility that it could be the driver themselves with cancer, or other long-term condition.

Can't be bothered to answer the rest yet again; why don't you just exchange pm's with murrayfan?

Never lived in Chells but know it well. I moved to Pin Green (Green) in 1967 (when it was brand new) and have also lived in Shephall (Red), Old Town (Grey) and Broadwater (Brown). For the past 15 years I've been in Fishers Green (Grey).
When in Chells were you a Poet, Explorer, Inventor or something else? ;)

    rdwarr,

I fully agree re the able bodied. My disabled father always complained that he couldn't get spaces then offered me his badge to save me paying for parking!

The problem is that some people don't 'look' disabled and that others have abused the system, making it harder to decide exactly who should be entitled. This sort of abuse will always happen, but PPCs are not the way to sort it as they abuse and cause hassle more people on a daily basis than the selfish drivers do.
