asda nappies, any good?

  • I hate asda nappies, of all the brands I have tried they were the worst and left so many crystals on my dd. I have pretty much always stuck with tescos but on the odd couple of occasions have had no choice but to buy other brands.

Tescos def get the thumbs up from me and my daughter and are great value for money too!

With the arrival of twins in oct/nov i am starting to stock up in advance with nappies. (maybe i should be using resusable, but the thought of double washing/soaking, doesn't appeal, sorry!)

With my 2 boys i have used pampers, huggies, boots depending on offers on. I Ventured to asda today and was impressed with the price of their newborn "new arrival" nappies 24 for £1.74 (yellow pckt suprisingly similar looking to the pampers ones!!) Have brought a pack, but wondered if anyone had experience using them on their bubbas, before i go and buy a shed load and find they're rubbish etc!

hiya aldis nappys r cracking there just as good as pampers and huggies i discoevered this after spending a fortune in nappys after my second lol
    It`s getting to the point

Hi Clare, one of my friends swears by the Asda nappies (are they George Baby?) so I have bought a few packs to have in. However, I have also bought lots of Huggies, Pampers and Boots own with various coupons/offers as I'm told its just trial and error until you find the right one for your babe's shape!

After reading MortgageMamma and Dollop's posts I'm also going to buy some from Aldi too x

My little boy's 7 weeks tomorrow and we've been trying pretty much every nappy going in the last month or so. On the whole, they've all been much of a muchness really. Asda ones did seem to leave a lot of crystals, as another poster said. Huggies have been the only ones to really leak on us (touch wood!) Both Tesco and Lidl seem good and certainly can't fault the prices! Definitely seems like baby shape makes all the difference though, so lots of trial and error required! :)

    Heya

    Congratulations on the pregnancy!

I have used Asda's nappies but was not overly impressed, i found Tesco's a million times better and there approximatley the same price!!! I prefer these to pampers, huggies etc.

As for the re useabole nappy comment, i use re useables in the main and have saved my self a fortune! Nowadays you dont Wet pail. Take them off put them in a Dry bucket then do a wash at the end of the day! There really is no real extra hassle! Cost wise they are expensive to start, but call your local council they may offer an incentive scheme! Even better

Good Luck and love with the pregnancy x

    What she said :T :T :T

I used disposables for a short while and was unimpressed by Asda's nappies - much preferred Tesco's own (prefer Asda for everything else though).

I now use reusable nappies and they are not the PITA that people think. I use all in ones, prefolds, shaped and terry nappies and much prefer these to disposables. Terries are really cheap, easy to fold and can be used as cloths once your littlies are out of nappies.

I dry pail mine, no need for soaking. Just empty the bucket into the washer every other day.

Congratulations on the pregnancy & good luck :D

am sure most people have tried every brand going, cost is a big factor, i have found the following out i have 2 girls and you seem to get different anwers for boys (? wee is wee isn't it)

you can't beat tesco nappies, today for example dd18m was in hers from 10am til 6.30pm as (don't ask, don't make a habit of this!) and she has been walking about all day not even a soggy patch!! Tend to only buy pampers if i get extra clubcard points (you often do) and then save them for night time, even then i only buy the baby dry as all this active fit etc is a con (expensive mistake learnt with dd1)

don't bulk buy too many own brands though as when they are newborn pampers are a safe bet and to be fair they don't wee that much as tinies!, if you go in to each store they let you have a sample (as they give them out in baby change rooms or CS desk) you could try this and have a look for yourself

good luck for a safe pregnancy
