Unlimited landline to mobile plan anywhere?

Asking for my Dad who has mild dementia.

He is paying a fortune (which he can't afford) for calls to mobiles from a landline (as family all on mobiles). Getting him a mobile isn't going to work because he will either lose it or he won't remember to charge it. He does have carers who could regularly put a mobile in a charger (if they can find it) but he could remove the mobile from the charger the minute they're out the door, so a landline phone is the only failsafe option.

Does anyone know of an unlimited landline to mobile plan, because I can't find anything. Other ideas welcome.

I am not aware of any unlimited landline to mobile plans, however you may wish to look at the Post Office Home Phone service. They offer inclusive calls to mobiles from landlines from Friday evening till the early hours of Monday morning. Their connection and costs per minute are also alot cheaper than other providers too. So although not unlimited, your dad may still be able to save some money.

What you want is not available.

With my family, we all have Giffgaff phones so get free GG to GG calls all the time. You can get GG tariffs from as low as £5 per month.

We've been with them for two years now and can recommend them 100%.

You don't say what landline provider or tariff he is currently on?
For example if on BT, then Unlimited Anytime Plan Plus is half the price for mobile calls than any other BT tariff. That would cost £8pm compared to £5.15pm if he is on Anytime 'Standard'. Not unlimited, but could result in a big saving.

I'm not entirely sure as my sister deals with his bills, but I know it's BT and he currently has broadband and TV also, and the monthly cost excluding calls is £49.80 - but including calls it's around £90.

We are stopping the TV (and getting freeview instead) as Dad can't remember how to use the controls.

Yes, I was just looking at BT Unlimited Anytime Plus plan. Comparing it with the Post Office Home Phone with Anytime.

Dad tends to call mostly during the day. Because of the dementia, he can make up to 20-30 calls a day

So that's an immediate saving of around £204pa, assuming that he is on Anytime at present (and assuming that all those exclusive calls are to mobiles).

offers unlimited calls to landlines, 0845 and 0870 numbers plus all mobile networks, but unfortunately To get one of our great value talk plans, you need to buy it together with at least one other service, like our superfast broadband, Virgin TV, or as part of a Collection, so I suspect it won't be suitable.
