I think a posh bubble bath is nice to have, but what about some luxurious hair products, my hair felt dry and awful (as well as losing hair) the weeks after birth, and putting something 'nice' on my hair made me feel a bit better about myself. But I also second the tea/coffee suggestions others have made.0

I have just had a baby and the best presents I had were meals that could just be heated up (and pudding although we only got one of those). Also one friend made a mini hamper of the foods I could have again. A few sift cheedmses, pât!, wine etc!0

Thanks everyone for your ideas, i'm spoilt for choice now! I've narrrowed it down to a nice bath item for each of them plus a cake & chocolates, or cinema/restaurant vouchers so they have no excuse not to use them! I know if i put money in a card they will spend it on the baby and i want them to treat themselves.0

You are fortunate to be in this position though although I note you say "I would like to think". Does this mean you don't yet have children?
My parents will have my son when I ask them but not every family goes mushy over newborn babies....
I've one on the way but I've got a 1 year old & a 4 year old couin so I've seen my family in action recently - maybe I am generalising, sorry folks! My Debt Free Diary

I'd love to do this, it's a fab idea, but my sister has the most unadventurous taste in food anyway!
Really fancy some pate and nice bread now

One of the best gifts I had was some hand cream. I had no idea how dry my hands were going to become with the constant washing!
A friend gave it to me and said 'you'll need it' and boy was she right!!0 -
