bt homehub - turn off btfon/openzone?

With BT you opt in to BTFON and it uses a slice of your hub for its own hotspots and you got free wifi when out and about by logging in with a user name and password. You could also opt out at anytime but lost the free wifi. It sets up on the web not on the hub, though if it has been used to opt in then an opt out might be needed using the original username and password, if it hasn't no worries. There is no way of opting in or out via the hub. :-)
Oops. I see Mr Toad already provided the answer. :-) xxx0 -
About 30 seconds with Google turned up this

... which requires login with a btinternet e-mail address, but the OP saidthe_r_sole wrote: »I don't have a bt contract and never have, I just got an old homehub to use as a wireless access point
... so surely he'll be missing the login details?0 -
correct, no login details as I have no account and never had, surely they must change some setting on the hub when you opt in or out which I am hoping some geek has figured - wonder if there is a hacked firmware somewhere to put on it!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. A lot of BT HHs are rebranded Thompson or Sagem kit. When I got hold of one to use as a temp. replacement for my router, I managed to reflash the firmware with the nearest Thompson version. That turned the 'BTfon' into a basic DMZ wireless connection that was set to 'non-active' by default.Never Knowingly Understood.
