TPS Registered? So what!

Had two cold calls yesterday - both the usual PPI/ambulance chasing stuff.
First one was informed that we were TPS registered. She apologised and said she'd remove us from her list. Well done you.
Second one was a belter! Asked to speak to the wife, and I advised him we were TPS registered so he was breaking the law in making the call.
"OK - so can you put me onto your wife then?"
I asked him if he knew what TPS was. He did. I asked the name of the company he worked for and it was something like Financial Planning -have the name written down at home anyway.
I asked him if he knew if he was breaking the law now - he said yes - but can I speak to your wife.
I congratulated him on his audacity, but asked him why he thought I still wanted to talk to him if we were TPS registered and he said I just want to save you some money.
I gave up at this stage and put him on loudspeaker as he chuntered away about credit cards and whatever before he gave up about 5 minutes later.
So - question. Who do we contact about this? He persisted despite being told several times we were TPS registered.
Any tips for the next time this happens? I should have got his name, maybe recorded the call, and asked for a phone number I suppose. But just taken aback by the cheek of it!
Thanks in anticipation.

I'd start with trading standards and go from there.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I got told by one last week that when I said we were part of TPS and fed up of getting these calls said" oh but if you registered over a year ago that does not count"..:rotfl:
(ambulance chasers that my insurance company must have sold on for an car dent 2 1/2 years ago - cheers insurance co.)0 -
TPS have certainly thinned out the calls I have had however they do not stop the Asian chaps named Kevin/Alan/ etc who want to solve my Windows virus problems.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

TPS......toothless crocodile. No deterant at all.
I've stopped saying this to callers as they either laugh at it or just launch into their sales talk.0 -

Had my first one of those today. Was pretty bored when the call came through and managed to waste his time for 35 minutes!
He was getting very frustrated at the end of the all when none of the debit card numbers I gave him were working!0 -
Well done!!I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

If you have a law and it's not enforced, it's pointless.
I had one the other day. Told him I was TPS registered and he said "I don't give a sh*t". I just told him to p*ss off then.Je suis sabot...0
