    Thanks guys
Just been informed, ex has received email saying she will be getting CHB for youngest only from now and still weekly. Ive heard stories about a transfer of CHB can sometimes take months! Hope not!

Presumably then, yours will be on the way as they have amended her payment. Are you both getting the higher rate then? (out of interest)

    Hi Valli
Yes it seems so, ex has confirmed eldest child rate for our youngest. The rules in the CHB technical manual state higher rate each also. Just hoping things move quick on my side so to speak!

    Hi
My ex partner and I have decided to have one child benefit each to reflect the shared care we have of our children.
My question is, will we both get the eldest child rate?
    Mike
I like that  Well I don't see why not, would be interested to hear the outcome. That would also bypass the anti-parent bedroom-tax

Shared care is inevitably more expensive than non shared care, however, in almost all cases, it is the best choice for the children. If it means parents getting an extra £10 or so a week as a result, I don't think it so bad. It's great that some parents are prepared to work such arrangement for the benefit of their children. Good luck OP.

So glad for you both. CTC may take a little longer as it is coming up to the end of the tax year and they will be busy getting renewal packs and other stuff to send out, but hopefully only approx 4-6 weeks tops from when you told them about it all.
