Hello,
I also got a Parking Eye ticket for a 28 minutes overstay while shopping at the Range in St Helens - the ticket is for £100, or £60 if paid early.
I have a receipt from the store to validate that I was shopping in there between the times they have photographed my car entering and leaving - are they likely to take that to back up an 'appeal' and cancel the ticket?
Also, I was with my 2 young sons - I had to put them in their pram and make sure they were safe and confortable, then spent an hour shopping while I waited for my wife, her mum and her disabled brother to arrive separately. We then spent over an hour having some lunch, as there is a restaurant in the shop.
JCSaint, could you let me know how your 'appeal' goes and how you worded your letter? I've been looking at the template on the main parking tickets page...would this be the best one to use?0 -

In your case, I would go back to the shop, if not out of your way, take your receipt, demand to see the manager, tell him your tale and advise him if he wants your future business, get the ticket cancelled.
That's the first step. Come back on if he says no.0 -

Exactly the same advice as I gave the this poster earlier:

The 'main parking tickets page' is less hepful than this live forum, we reckon. No to using an old template from the main site!
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good news, I went back to the Range in St Helens on Saturday with my receipt and spoke with the manager who sorted the PCN for me and said I won't have to pay it.
He was very helpful - I'm glad it was all very straightforward, so I can continue to shop there in the future.
He did also say that if we are in a similar situation in the future, particularly if we are in the restaurant and close to running over the 2 hours, we can let them know and they will make sure we don't get another PCN through the post...
A big thumbs up to the Range in St Helens...!0 -
You must ask yourself why there is only a 2 hour parking limit in place. Who decided on that time? I bet it wasn't the shop keepers, but the PPC who saw an opportunity to screw money out of people. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Don't bank on Parking Eye playing ball for him. There have been quite a few threads from people who have had a store "cancel" a ticket, only to find that the PPC concerned will still keep-on trying to scam money out of them.
So maybe appraise yourself of the advice in this thread and the letter chains so you know what to expect if they do come back at you.0 -
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread.
I've been reading through numerous threads with various links to other threads and feel like I'm going round in circles.
Is there a standard wording recommended for the first letter regarding a PCN.
Obvioulsy I realise I need to put it into my own words but would appreciate a pointer to the right owrds to use for best result.
Thanks in advance

Not really, it very much depends on the particular circumstances, and whether the parking company appears to be pursuing damages for trespass, contract breach, or contract performance charge.Je Suis Cecil.0

Unfortunately I don't have the letter with me at the moment as I'm at work.
But it's the standard Parking Eye PCN for overstaying on a 2 hour limit.0
