Are there any bilingual, Sign language, ethnic minority, previously homeless alcoholics out there? Preferably transgender and without any form of religion? Because if there are then feel free to apply for the job I have just sent an application form in to as they state that they favour the above groups and actively seek to recruit them. They also aren't asking for any qualifications or experience and offer 40 days paid holiday a year.
Some days I don't know why I got my education and training, and spent years gaining experience when all along I could have sat with a nice bottle of voddy on a park bench, practising my signing skills at random passers by!
Wish me luck

I can tick 4 of the categories!
What part of the UK is it in??The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
Going be sitting here now trying to guess which four it is. . . I was a bit cross because if it had stated no alcoholics, no homeless people, no ethnic minorities, must have xyz as a religion and no transgender there would be a ream of complaints about it! Maybe I will keep my fingers crossed that it didn't get many applicants and they are forced to hire a tee total me!0

LOL that might keep you busy for a while

Do those categories match the client / customer base?
Or the rest of the work team? The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
Blimey, so if you were an Atheist Asian transgender, spoke English and Urdu, knew sign language, slept rough and dined on White Lightning, you'd be snapped up! Well I never...0

I aren't sure about the work team but it is in the social care sector, i just recall the good old days when the best suited person got the job, regardless. I think sometimes the policy of having a workforce which represents every single part of society has the potential to leave better candidates on the sidelines. Back in the day (!) it was the based on application forms and then a quick interview, not all this monitoring.
I hope that the person they do select is the best for their clients, whether it is myself or another candidate, and not just a tick box employee.
By the way, if anyone does regonise the job, good luck to all and may the best man/woman/transgender win!

Gosh, that sounds almost unbelievable! Do you have a link to the job advert, I'd love to read it!0

I'll put one up if I don't get an interview, not pinning my hopes on it! Am wondering whether to let them know I am a vegetarian, as they seem to have left dietry requirements off the list
Could be the ticket I need! 0 -

Two words.
Positive. Discrimination.
However normally the more religious the better.0 -
Ain't positive for me! In fact, they may even be discriminating against me as I am none of the above ( as far as I know, although I have been known to employ a second language at times of great stress! )

Must be a wind up.
I've seen some of the above a in 'we encourage applications from the following groups as they are currently under represented', not 'favouring'.
Foreign languages and sign language make perfect sense, if dealing with customers/members of the public who need translation.
Personal experience when working with homeless/alcoholics can be valuable, same as work experience with such groups.
No religion? Transgender? Sounds like a wind up to me.0
