Someone may have asked this before but why are some of the reviews so lengthy? They're more like essays. It would be ok but when the subject is a bottle of washing up liquid or a bottle of nail varnish you only need to know the basics and whether it's any good or not and worth the money. Do you get paid more for writing very long reviews or are you more likely to get crowns? Just wondering.

I have to agree Mrs Yardbroom..........I find it off putting when reviews are longer than necessary.

I can only think they are aiming for crowns.

Like you, I don't mind long reviews when there is plenty to say, for instance a hotel review, but some things just don't justify essays.

Many people on DY also post on Ciao. On Ciao the fashion is for very lengthy reviews, e.g. 3000 words on a Yankee candle. On Ciao users are rewarded with Diamonds (equivalent to crowns) but also Exceptional ratings which link into the Premium Fund, a bonus paid out based on how many E ratings one has in a month. Basically, people feel they have more chance at Es if they post essays. They are often correct.

Someone appears to be spamming Dooyoo. They have signed up under a number of different names and have written short "reviews" of pc specialist. Don't bother to rate them.

Oh yes well we all know that the 'Pc Specialist' reviews have been confirmed as 'genuine' by Dooyoo.

Read in to that what you will, frankly I find it laughable that so many hundreds of people would review that but not say Amazon, a much larger company probably used by significantly more people.

    I wish I had too!

Over half way to my first Amazon voucher.. In just over a week .. I have only done 5 reviews though. I'm a bit scared to do too many and get in trouble :o

    Wish me luck!! :-)
