  • I think maybe fewer people are around in general. I've noticed that when I go to return ratings, quite a few people haven't written any new reviews for me to rate, and I struggle to find something of theirs that I haven't already read. I have also noticed that a few popular topics (eg skin care, cosmetics) have gone down to level 3 and I wonder if this is putting people off.

Is it just me or are there less people rating reviews recently? Maybe it's because the summer is over and more people are back at work and have less time. Or maybe my reviews just aren't interesting :o

I know what you mean, I'm on a course at the moment so I don't get to rate any reviews till 4-5pm, I find even if I rate a few pages of reviews it seems to be slower to get dy miles, it's taken until today to reach 25,000 DY miles (just got to wait for some pending points to clear)

Glad I'm not the only one to think that. I'm nearing 17,000 miles which I dont think is too bad considering I signed up the end of August. I reckon I'll go a little past 20,000 miles so that I a) wont have to wait for points to clear and b) once I claim my voucher I won't be back down to 0 again.

Totally know what you mean. I scroll to the bottom to see if I've rated someone's review before, so that I don't get halfway in and think... hang on, I've read this before :o
  • Just wrote out a review and though I had lost it! Should pay attention more when clicking certain buttons :o I had missed the publish one for some reason.

Back to previous comments, it may also be quiet as I think it's the first week back at school for most kids so perhaps some are still getting back into the swing of writing and reviewing :)

I'm struggling too with rates so now actively look at profiles to see if they rate too as it can't always be "give, give, give." The site does tend to have points when it is a little quieter, so no-one give up! :)

I'm same viewpoint as you novagirl. Looking at peoples rating record shows how much time and effort they take on the site and make the good community spirit :)

Thats a good idea, I haven't really looked at that. There's a few that review numerous products a day but I seldom get any rates back. That's the way it goes I suppose... :p

I'd like to say I'm one of the people with a 'deficit' but mine is from 2009/2010 sometime when I was me, me, me ;) I've been gradually catching up and gone from 15,000 down to 8,000 or something now :) It is a long slog, and sometimes I have times where I don't write at all just to try and catch up a bit, so we aren't all lazy return raters now (just in the past), having said that, some of the more long standing members have become terrible at returning rates, despite managing to find time to write VERY long reviews.

I'm sure I've already said this to you before, Dooyoo sometimes ban people they believe are asking for return rates or organising clicking cartels. Unless someone actually linked them to your post I doubt they actively trawl the net looking for this type of thing but just to be on the safe side I wouldn't ask people for rates, just do your thing, post, rate, etc, and hope you get lots back (Sure you will!).

Could everyone reply with their usernames again? I'm STILL hoping to get back into writing but while I do I have been trying to update my circle a little and get some newer reviewers on there :)

I caved in and cashed out my £30 for Amazon vouchers, in the hope it would motivate me, it hasn't :rotfl:
