Does this card look like would be ideal for me in spain ??
From what i can see i can get it free atm, and load it free if use internet banking, and so the only fees would be £2.25 per cash withdrawal over there.
We are only going for a week (and AI so thinking maybe wont need many withdrawals and think its free to use the card as a credit card) so even if i withdrawn daily would be £15.75 for the week ??
I was looking at the halifax clarity card after advice on here but this would save me credit checks etc and cant see it saving me that much more
Not going till june also so can load it up between now and then
Thanks

Your analysis looks reasonable - Kalixa is the prepaid card that's most often recommended on here (especially since the TravelEx Cash Passport Globe charges were increased). As long as you keep the number of cash withdrawals to a minimum it should work out pretty cheap.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Hi,
I have a kalixa card and noticed that they recently started to offer free loading via debit card rather that just free by bank transfer.
This is great as the bank transfers are not instant, but debit card is.
I'm very happy that I can now load instantly for free!!! :T0 -
Bit the bullet and signed up for it yesterday. loaded £50 via bank transfer and had email there today saying had received it.
I used the offer code so got free registration. will just top teh card up each week till we go away in june.0 -

Sorry to go a little off-topic but looking at getting one of these for the wife who due to illness has trouble managing money but would still like to able to go shopping etc and was wondering where you got the offer code from?
**EDIT**
Ignore me, found it on their website lol0 -
Can I ask a question please?
Does making payment by debit card not trigger a charge from your bank, because they think you're buying foreign currency with a debit card? My bank did this to me when I got a Travelex card and made my initial load.
However, I cannot seem to find it in various bank's t&cs.
Can someone help please?0 -

Which bank and how long ago did it happen to you?
Most banks have now stopped charging for this (and quite a few didn't charge for it in the first place).Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
