Forgive me if this is on the wrong board :P
I have just bought my first juicer today and would like to know if anyone has any good recipes they have tried, all contributions welcome!
I look forward to trying them all, ;D

There are loads of books out there, but if you're like me you'll stick to your faves, so try the library to see which ones you like.
My faves are green apple(3), carrot (2) & fresh ginger. Also, watermelon, honeydew melon & green grape. Both are very sweet. You can vary the amounts of the ingredients to taste.
Other veg that are surprisingly sweet if you've never tried them are cucumber or peppers and tomatoes (but I hate peppers so I stick loads of celery and tabasco in to mask the smell - only drink them cos it's good for you).
Unless you're really into veg or detoxing, I'd give anything with watercress or spinach a miss. I tried one with its 'distinctive earthy taste' - for 'earthy', read 'tastes like the contents of the bottom of your compost bin!
Since I bought my juicer, I've had to buy a 6 ft tall fridge so I've room for my veges. In that respect, not really a money saver, but I am jolly healthy ;D ;D ;D
Enjoy. ;D0 -

Carrot, ginger & orange. Yummy
Also Nigel Slater has a book called 'Thurst' which has all sorts of great juicing & other drinks ideas.0 -
what ginger do you use, fresh or powdered?0
-
Fresh ginger, often I buy alot if I see it reduced. Then all you have to do is bung it in the freezer, take out as required. Peeling it before use. Doesn't make much juice, but just a little adds flavour and is delicious. Best to let it defrost a little before you juice it or you just get a frozen mush in the juicing machine.
Hope that helps ;D0 -
never know you could freeze it. thats fab to know, tried growing it last time it went off. ::)0

I didn't know you could freeze it either. It keeps for quite a long time in the fridge in a poly bag.0

Peaches, apples and a few kiwi fruit go very nicely!0
