Hence why you should check and ask for a callback to confirn they do actually have it.

Done that and still got the same response. After about 2 weeks after the assessment, they finally admitted that it was in front of the decision maker.. So either ATOS is telling lies (NEVER?!?!) or DWP are telling porkies.. I'll let people make up their own minds on that one :)

Hence why I said wait 2 weeks from the date ATOS says they sent it. No one is lying, it just takes time to become received and in process.

So there's 2 weeks between the time ATOS say they sent it and the time the DWP say they receive it. So it's in no man's land for 2 weeks, which is what I've been telling the OP.

I think there's something the DWP could put on their main screens to say it's going through the system at the moment, rather than telling people that they've not heard anything back from ATOS.

I doubt he was aggressive, that would imply threatening behaviour, but if he was short with you it is probably because he can see that you keep calling.

You need to give them chance to look at your case, repeated calls will not make this happen any faster. Set a reminder for a week from today and call for an update - do not call before!

I doubt he was agressive, he was more likely under pressure to keep to an unrealisticly low call time average....at the threat of losing his job if his calls are too long. Having looked at your notes and telling you it had not arrived he considered that he had answered your query and did not want to discuss "the price of fish".

They are also under a lot of pressure not to do uneccessary emails to the BDC.

Having said that,....... next time you call, if it has been more than 2 weeks and there is no note saying that the ESA55 has been recvd, then you should insist on a callback being done for you.

Which is what I told the OP, and to phone to check after 2 weeks.

That would be a bad idea because the post is delivered to a postal sorting centre where it is divided into the correct departmental inboxes and then delivered from there to the BC offices. The amount of time for the workers to access customer computer records to enter every document as received would add enormously to the amount of post they can sort in a single day, either they would sort 90% less post in a day or they would have to increase tenfold the number of staff, costing the tax payer even more money.
