Hi,
We've been receiving Spam Text messages from 5 digit shortcode numbers. We haven't requested them and not sure where they've come from.
The messages say "to opt out reply "stop" to XXXXX".
Are we safe to do this or will this just end up in us receiving tons more messages and/or charges?
Also, it seems that we've been charged to receive these messages by Three. We've complained to Three asking them to refund the monies, will they do so? How can we stop these messages and others as they are costing us money.
Many thx in advance.

Usually if you text 'STOP ALL' to the numbers then they will stop.
3 aren't obliged to refund as the texts are from third party companies who profit from them. Although it is worth asking 3 as they might refund as goodwill.
If you have any further problems or 3 don't refund, you can check out https://www.phonepayplus.org.uk - these are the regulators for premium rate services. You can make a complaint to these as well.0
